Default Decaying skeletons and other newbie mob /cons

Decaying skeletons (the level 1 variety in the newbie areas) throughout the classic game always /conned indifferent, while the "skeletons" (around level 5-8 I think) /conned scowls, with the notable exception of the dwarf skeletons in Butcherblock, which were also indifferent. I never understood why until I was camping the ones at the druid ring on my newbie druid last night, and watched them attacking everyone who ported in. My main on live was a WE druid who ported into BB countless times, never attacked by the skeletons there.

Also, the bats in GFay should /con dubious instead of indifferent (not that it matters, but for the sake of being correct and classic, I guess), and the wolves in GFay should be amiable to druids and rangers and threatening to everyone else, just like the ones in Misty are.

In regards to the skeletons, this is a known issue. I hope to have this fixed once I am done with my current project.

Iirc, there were two kinds of decaying skeletons. A few were aggressive (scowling), and most indifferent.

This is correct, I remember some Decaying Skeletons attacking anyone and everything that moved regardless of level. But then some didn't.
Which ones I'm not sure.

Sweet thanks! I searched, but could not find this issue already listed on the board.

I seem to remember that the decaying skels in Field of Bone were agro (but they may have changed them at a later date- still a bit fuzzy on that), but not any of the classic newbie areas.

This is my conclusion. After doing a lot of reading and researching for development, I saw posts indicating that some were, some weren't. I believe that certain newbie zones had KoS skeletons, and others did not.

I definitely remember decaying skeletons interrupting me while memming spells.. often. This would be around Qeynos or Freeport.

Can/will be changed with further evidence.

Ok, with a little research, I did find something on the dwarf skeletons in Butcherblock. This is a post on Alla's dated April 7th, 2000.
Quote:
Five of these spawn in set points at the druid ring in BB. None of them will aggro until attacked, and none will help each other. No other critters spawn in the area, so you can sit and heal right next to one of these without fear.
It was on this page:
http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?id=182

I also am sure I don't remember there being constant trains of skellies in BB to the GFay zone line, as there are in P99. Skels now are agroing on anyone an everyone, and most people, unless they are low enough level the skels can actually hurt them, don't bother to kill them, so they just train them all the way across the zone.

I couldn't find any info on decaying skels though. Will keep looking, but finding info from that far back is not easy- most of it has long since been removed.
