Relive the Classic Everquest Experience as it was from 1999 to 2001. Project 1999 is a free to play Classic Everquest Server, unaffiliated with Daybreak Game Company but operating under legal permission. Our goal is to restore the magic and difficulty of the original Everquest game, including the mechanics, interface, and challenges of Original Content, Kunark, and Velious. Project 1999 is the most popular and most accurate reincarnation of Old School Everquest.

Innoruuk's Trick or Treat Havoc!
Adventurers of Norrath, something dark and sinister is brewing! Innoruuk, the Prince of Hate, has cast his malevolent shadow across the land, and chaos is about to be unleashed. Get ready for Innoruuk's Trick or Treat Havoc, a week-long event filled with challenges, surprises, and a battle for the fate of Norrath.
Cursed Candy and Chaos
Throughout Norrath, cursed candy is appearing, causing fear and excitement among adventurers. The Priests of Marr are calling on brave souls to gather the tainted sweets before Innoruuk’s influence spreads further. But beware—there’s more at play than meets the eye, and time is running out.
During the season, Accursed Candy will be available as a very rare drop amongst enemies that are not trivial to your character on all 3 P99 servers. The Temple of Marr has deployed it's priests to each continent across Norrath, ready to cleanse the curse. But, the Priests of Innoruuk are about as well, seeking the candy to help unleash the curse across the land. Rumor has it, a temporary, seasonal title will be bestowed to one lucky adventurer on each server who supports their cause and turns in at least 10 pieces of candy!
⚔️ Hate’s Last Stand PvP Showdown ⚔️
As the event reaches its climax, the forces of Light and Darkness will collide in an epic PvP showdown! Choose your side—will you fight for the Priests of Marr to cleanse Norrath, or stand with Innoruuk’s forces to plunge the world into darkness? Only the strongest will prevail.
This event will take place on both the Green and Blue P99 servers separately. Keep a close eye on in-game messages throughout the event season for more information on timing!
Secrets and Surprises Await
From start to finish, Innoruuk’s Trick or Treat Havoc will keep you on your toes. While the details remain shrouded in mystery, you can expect plenty of twists, turns, and rewards as you participate in the chaos.
Prepare yourselves for a week of haunted excitement, intense battles, and unforgettable moments! Innoruuk's Trick or Treat Havoc is almost here—are you ready to face the Prince of Hate’s wrath?
Will you conquer the darkness, or let it consume you?
11/4/24 Update: Greetings, Adventurers! The P99 Halloween Event, Innoruuk’s Trick or Treat Havoc, has now concluded and all of the Accursed Candy has been found! The Priests of Marr and Innoruuk will still be around for 1 more day to help with any final candy that may be awaiting cleansing. For anyone who has turned in at least 10 pieces of candy, keep an eye on the P99 forums for the coming days to see who wins the raffle for our seasonal title!
11/5/24 Update: Turn-in NPC's have been removed.
Congratulations to the winners of our temporary, seasonal titles, which will last through the end of the year!

Congrats Medris |
Oct 27, 2024 - 3:20 PM - by Menden

Greetings Adventurers,
I haven’t had the time or capacity to manage the day-to-day responsibilities of the Lead GM, so I asked Rogean to appoint a new Lead a few months ago..
Rogean has selected Medris as his new Lead. We’ve been slowly transitioning duties, but it’s time to make it official.. I congratulate Medris on a well-deserved promotion. He has been invaluable during his time as a GM and has an exceptional understanding of the Project. I have complete confidence in his ability to lead the CSR team. Medris will be building on the framework I established after Llandris’ departure, distributing responsibilities across more staff to help lighten the load.
While I’d love to return to being just a player, I'm not quite ready to retire. I will remain in a GM role under Medris’ leadership. I’m hoping to find some time and mental space to focus on events, reimbursements, and anything else that sounds like fun.

Patch Notes: October 23rd, 2024 |

The latest patch contains new required files. Download the new Patch Files from the top of the Home page, or the Getting Started Guide.
Container Adjustments
This patch contains changes to several containers that can affect your inventory items. We've identified an issue with certain containers that had larger bag slot capacity than intended for the current era. To rectify this, we've implemented the following changes:- Container Updates: We've modified certain containers to prevent unintended bag slot advantages. They are now classified as NODROP, and their weight has been substantially increased. Consequently, these containers may no longer be used for tradeskill combines. In their place, we've introduced classic versions of each container. These containers will replace the older ones in various aspects, including merchant lists and tradeskill recipes.
- Exchange Option: If you possess any of these modified containers, you have the option to exchange them for their era-appropriate counterparts. You may do this by trading them to the Priests of Discord in any city or a Shady Swashbuckler in East Commonlands.
Items Affected by these Changes:
- Medicine Bag: Reduced from 8 slots to 6.
- Lexicon: Reduced from 10 slots to 4. Weight has been decreased from 4.0 to 0.4.
- Elemental Grimoire: Reduced from 10 slots to 4. Weight has been decreased from 4.0 to 0.4.
- Book of Dark Bindings: Reduced from 10 slots to 4. Weight has been decreased from 4.0 to 0.4.
- Tome of Endless Enchantments: Reduced from 10 slots to 4. Weight has been decreased from 4.0 to 0.4.
Here's what you need to keep in mind when making the exchange:- Ensure that the container is empty of any items you want to keep.
- Exchange containers one at a time to avoid any complications.
- The CSR team will not reimburse any items lost due to failing to remove them from these containers.
These adjustments were necessary to prevent any unintentional item loss in the extra bag slots.
