Default Firiona Vie Guards do not attack pirates

There is a high level see-invis pirate pathing directly outside Firiona Vie. I have no idea if this is authentic (seems pretty tough), but add to this the fact that guards do not attack pirates in FV, and he's a potential death loop considering he will path near your corpse. Got me twice in a row, nothing I could do about it.

I don't know if this is how it was on classic, but I doubt it?

Gosh. That's going to spell trouble for newbs. All it takes is for a monk to train on in there and it's mayhem.

Shouldn't the guards attack Pirates if they attack players though? Also, may I ask, was it like this on live? I spent a lot of time around FV and while I remember the spiders with horror, I don't remember ever being seen/chased/killed by pirates.

Yeah the see invis is right (though not all do), I'm just wondering why guards don't attack a pirate if the pirate attacks a player? That doesn't seem right.

It was always only the priest casters that saw thru invis. the warrior ones did not.
I always ran thru FV invis to get to other zones, and it was mostly the few druid spiders and the fast running shamie gobos that posed a thread to see you and start nuking and dotting you.

There are several instances of guards not assisting versus humanoids. That's likely the reason.. whether it's roleplay or initial eq development of guard/monster npcs per zone.
