Default client buggy since last patch (v42)

Hi,

I am having a horrendous time login in/zoning/camping since the last patch.

I go link-dead/get booted from the game on atleast ever 3rd time I zone, I get booted when I camp, it sometimes takes me 2-3-4 attempts to just login then I hit a zone line and get booted then have to repeat the process of trying to log in over and over.

The issues is prevalent for a fresh install too ( from disks to patching v42 ) and on both an IMac and PC.

It seems there are few other people that are been affected by the same issue.

Is there a known fix at present?

Thanks!

I don't know if this applies in your case, but I've had the issues you describe in the past.

I resolved them by stopping all other bandwidth usage. For whatever reason the zoning process is not very fault tolerant -- a missed or delayed packet will cause the whole thing to fail requiring you to log in again and start over. Freeing up traffic for EQ made a night and day difference for me.

So if you or anyone else on your connection is using a lot of bandwidth(Other Games, Netflix, Youtube, Torrents) or if you're on a weak wireless connection, try fixing that issue and see if it helps with your EQ zoning.
