Default Help needed to start parsing

I've never done this before and couldn't find anything via search in this forum...anyone mind teaching me how to do it?

You get a program that reads the combat log as it's written. The program does all the work you just need to turn the combat log on in EQ and point the program to the directory. Not sure what the latest and greatest parse program is just try searching google for it.

Do you have a recommended program that is free and easy to use? Not looking for anything fancy here.

Google gamparse. Install it. Load it. Type /log on in eq. Go back to gamparse open log for that character in eq folder in the log folder. Done.

Thanks for the suggestion...I'll try itout. I googled it and got a bunch of options, all of which said they were easy and simple and yadda yadda.
