FFA pvp is pretty lame overall...I never got the point of it ( and a lot don't ). Yeah you can kill people for their camps..... but that's about it. You won't be taking anything good though.

PvPing for spawns and lvling in a more dangerous world adds a lot to the game. Try it out for a few days and you might like it.
