Question Bard or Ranger? (Cant Decide!)

I've heard that bards melee and that they are spell casters. I've heard that rangers are bowmen, but they do better with melee. Are bards more melee or are rangers more melee? I've also heard that almost everyone has made a bard, is that true? Are bards as hated as people say they are? [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Would appreciate any help. Rangers melee more. At higher levels, bards are most often relegated to twisting songs and swapping instruments.

People hate swarming bards, but good grouping bards are well-loved.

Bards are the Master Class, nothing compares. Everyone wishes they rolled a bard.

I'm not sure on Menden's definition or meaning of Master Class, but for enjoyment purposes I'd take a Ranger anyday of the week and especially on Sunday's over a Bard.

One of the perks of rolling a bard is doing 1-50 in 3-5 days if you swarm kite. Even post-nerf, kills are just longer, swarms are still completely viable and insane xp.

Rangers are kind of the pariahs of P99 - But then again so are Bards.

I havn't done ranger, but my Bard is level 54(?) and he has been fun to play. it gets tougher to group as a Bard 55-60 because they are not a min max class, I think a well geared Ranger would have an easier time.

If you want to be support, play Bard, if you want to be DPS, play Ranger

If you have to wonder, it means you should roll bard.

I think you will discover if you are going to burn out on a bard pretty quickly, so maybe go for that first and if you don't like it switch to ranger? Rangers are amazing till the 40s (basically up to the point they stop getting defence skill ups) and are still fun in the 50s.
