They are definitely different than the messages on P99 but gives you an idea of level differences depending on message. Would be nice to see an actual breakdown of what level range a mob is based off messages on P99 though.

Pretty sure this was classic. My monk chiseled through "barely green" mobs all the time and I remember I was able to distinguish before light blue cons.
