![]() After doing research on Fungal Regrowth on the Fungi staff, I found that the stacking method here on P99 doesn't quite line up with some posts on allah:

So it appears the affect originally overwrote just SoW if it was first in your buff list, but both Chloro/SoW if chloro came first. I imagine (complete guess by me) the code worked in a way where the effect on Fungal Regrowth was listed as * Regeneration * Snare And, when going down the list, if the final "effect" on the spell overwrote a buff slot, then it would stop parsing through the list of buffs. But that's just my guess. I did a search on the forums for this issue but didn't find any mention of it, so sorry if I missed the cause for this mechanic to not work this way.

![]() I had a druid with the staff and do remember that they did in fact stack, but with a whacky buff order requirement as mentioned in the thread. I have no evidence for it other than the thread you linked though. I wasn't sure when it was implemented on live so I never bothered with mentioning it.
Seems the order of buffs had to be SoW>Regen>Staff, at which point it overwrites SoW but leaves regen untouched. Obviously a bug but still classic.

![]() So I did a bit of digging.. didn't find much, and it's too tedious sifting through piles of fungi tunic rants to continue, but this is all the (possibly) relevant info I've found.
http://crucible.samanna.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2379 - on 10 May 2006 09:45 "Another item, often overlooked but very powerful, is the fungi staff. [...] The 15 hp regen stacks with our own regen spells also." http://thedruidsgrove.org/archive/eq/t-3424.html - 07-19-2002, 03:34 PM "ya, I jes about take for granted that I am always at +33/tick regen (3 regen aa). . .definantly take into consideration that I can take well over a thousand damage, and regen it back up in a couple minutes tops (faster if a bard is about =)) I was sad when they "fixed" the fungi staff for sure, heh heh. . .was at +48/tick with the effect stacked on me heh heh" - One guy disputes the stacking in the first link, but that is 4-5 years post bugfix and he obviously has no idea what hes talking about. The only thing in official patch notes relevant to it is that you can no longer cast it on others, however I thought that the following might be relevant to the cause of the bug - assuming that Fungal Regrowth is classified as a DOT, zam lists it as beneficial, but I don't know if that is legit. http://www.waringmcmarrin.com/?page_id=52 - July 19, 2000 7:00 am *Regen Effects* This week we corrected a bug that caused regen-type spells (e.g. Regeneration, Chloroplast, Regrowth, etc.) to overwrite DOT spells. As a result of this fix, players can no longer accept a regeneration spell while under the effect of a DOT. However, if the regen spell is already in place, the DOT will stack, but not replace the regen spell. This will allow users of beneficial DOTs, such as Call of Bones, to continue using their DOT while under the affect of regen.

http://www.waringmcmarrin.com/?page_id=54 April 17, 2001 3:00 am —————————— ** Food Changes ** - Food items now have a ‘duration’. This means that some food items will not sustain a character as long as others, and some items will sustain your character longer than they did before. - You can now buy stacks of combinable items (such as rations, water, etc…) from merchants. It works the same way as sell in that you can hold down shift to buy a full stack and control to buy just one item. - Right-clicking items while looting will ‘auto-equip’ them. This will work just as if you had picked the items up and dropped them onto the ‘auto-equip’ area of your character profile. So if there is already a piece of equipment on your character in the spot where the looted item would normally go, it will drop into your inventory, if you have room for it. - Hailing Player Character will now say ‘Hail Playername’, rather than just ‘hail’. - Added /charinfo command. Currently this command only reports the zone where the current character is bound. We may add further information as things progress. - You will now see how much damage your character has taken when he is hit by a spell that causes instant damage (DOT damage is not reported). ---- and hell, that's only things I noticed by going through about 1/3 of ONE patch.
