Default One Character Freezes Client Randomly

Every time I try to attack or do other actions like type something out (/who all guild) the game freezes/crashes. This only happens on my rogue and I first experienced it after trying to backstab a mob.

The game freezes within the first 15mins of playing the character. Zoned, sent tells to players and attacked mobs successfully without freezing but eventually it will freeze up. The WinEQ2 box will stay up and I can still hear battle music but the Windows wheel/whatever it's called starts spinning when I click on the client again.

I thought it was with all of my characters but when I tried my shaman on the same account he didn't have this issue. Played him for about an hour and then tried characters on EZserver and some other eqemu servers and didn't have the issue with freezing on those either.

Fully shut down my machine and rebooted it but still the same results. Checked task manager and didn't see any issues with the processes.

Attempted deleting both eq and my character .ini files but this didn't fix the issue.

Used the 'Launch Titanium' batch file and the game kept freezing with the regular client as well (Normally use WinEQ 2.15).

Recently, I'd been using GINA (audio trigger program) and ZlizEQ Maps (/loc map program). With GINA I had used both timers and audio triggers. They both check the log file for their respective functions so I cleared the log files for my character but the issue didn't change. I couldn't find any restrictions with using either programs when checking the forums.

Been playing for months without any issues on my current machine and this seems to have coincided with 1 of these 2 programs or both.

Currently running Windows 8.1 64bit

Reset your UI, or resize your small chat box, you have a chat box that is too small.

No problem, had that problem once myself and I'm glad it helped out a hand full of people on the boards after that.

Thank you so very much for this post. My wife had her one character that kept crashing and we deleted all the character files and she remade everything (again with the small window for spam info) and it crashed again. Then I reworded my google search and found this post. Thank you so much for helping with her random crash out on just one character. Who knew it was a window that was too small....

Glad I found this, was having trouble logging into Red and couldn't figure out what was going on.
