Druids, Shaman, and Clerics:
Created a new spell effect for Celestial Healing, Celestial Elixir, and Torpor. This will allow them to stack with all other spells, save spells of the same type (Heal over time). Prior to this, all heal-over-time spells followed the same rules as regeneration spells.

I could be wrong; throwing this out there for the great classic gods.

EQclerics forum is down at the moment, but Google has some context links that will hopefully work when the server stops hiccuping.

Celestial Elixer problem General. ... EQ Cleric Forums ... change at some point due to the fact that regen spells don't stack on DOTs any longer.

I know I've seen people mention this before but has anyone had it fail to heal someone?

I kept track of using it for a few hours and I had it fail 9 out of 39 times. So approx 25%. What I mean by failing is, person it was cast on recieved no healing and no blinking regen icon. At the time it was cast the person had no dots, poisons, or regens on.

I have tested it on myself to see what the messages are.
When it fails the message is:
The Celestial Elixir fades.
Your affliction has been cured by a magical enchantment
Celestial Elixir pumps through your body.

When it works the message is:
Celestial Elixir pumps through your body.
The Celestial Elixir fades.

Now other than this problem there is still the problem verant introduced a few weeks ago about it not stacking with some dots and other regens like it should and they don't seem to be in any hurry to fix that either.

This particular thread had some interesting regarding CE and some of the earlier issues with the spell. Google Cache link:

Few bugs still with elixer i've seen:

overwrites chloro/regen on target.
won't hold if target is DOT'd.

both just seem wrong now that there is no cure component.

The rumor is because the 59 lvl spell, Celestial elixir, is now a regen heal and it *does* overwrite regen spells. So before this came out people ...

Did anyone notice that they have nerf'd one of the BEST spells for us clerics! The new Celestial Healing spell now cancels out Regrowth/Cholorplast and Regeneration! This effectivly cancells any usefullness in this wonderful spell..
Druids/Shaman no longer need to cast and regeneration spell on others or themselves if clerics use this spell on them, if used on a Shaman the Shaman's canablilize spell is useless because they can't use regrowth except in long downtimes, making mana use prohibitive.
I am hoping against hope that this is just a bug introduced in this last patch..Please tell us this is the problem and that it will be corrected.

Ok, things get a little confusing in here around patch day. I wanted to clear up one item that was put into the patch message that wasn’t completely accurate.
>”- Last week's patch attempted to fix Celestial Elixir, Celestial Healing, and Torpor, so that they would stack another similar spell, unintentionally causing it to stop stacking with standard regeneration spells. This has been fixed. The downside to this fix is that these spells will now overwrite the "Call of Bones" series. As the three former spells are cast to save a character's life, this solution appears to be the most beneficial for all of those involved.”<

We’re looking at this one again. Due to the fact that at least some of us thought this was going to work one way and other another, we’ll have to go over it again…

But, as it is in game now, Celestial Elixir, Celestial Healing and Torpor will stack with most regenerative-type spells. The will NOT overwrite Call of Bones, Lich or the DoT lifetap spells. The heal over time spells will not take hold on someone with those spell lines up. That’s how it works at the moment. As I said, we’re giving the whole thing one more review.

Important to note that Celestial Healing is a Velious spell. A "mini CE".

Celestial Elixir was originally supposed to heal and cure poison/disease counters over time, but Verant couldn't get it to work correctly.

As far as I know, Torpor always stacked on top of regen, unless there was some very temporary bug or something.
