This applies to all three classes with the skill, Monk, Rogue, and Bard. I used this skill quite a bit on live, and once I got it on here I could tell right away there were inaccuracies.

On P1999 currently, once you press the ID button, regardless of anything else it will either trigger or fail. This is not correct, and it is a bit OP in its current form.

First, ID shouldn't trigger until the final "attack" of the routine(eg: the flying kick). Also if you FD and then you trigger a successful ID it should break FD. Completing an instill doubt after you feign will break it http://www.monkly-business.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4764

Second, ID should be considered a "special attack" similar to the flying kick and Backstab. Which means that ID shouldn't trigger if your flying kick, eagle strike etc is greyed out.

Third, ID shouldn't trigger unless the kick at the end of the routine lands

Proof: I found a nice website from February of 2000 with lots of info on ID. http://www.roath.demon.co.uk/Instill.htm

Also from a Rogue website from February of 2001 http://teir-dal.tripod.com/id47.html
2.30. What does Instill Doubt do?

Instill doubt causes the rogue to go through several combat animations, and on success, will attempt a kick, which if successful will send the enemy running a la the fear effect.

Basically what this means is there a success check, then a kick which needs to land in order for ID to be successful.
