For some reason this guard can see invisible

This is the guard that stands just inside the militia house near gates that always blows invis. :)


Now we just need to beef up their resists from my other thread :).

Indeed I remeber this on live, I always had to kill him to then single lucan (yes u could! %$%$## agro chain mechanics!!!)

but anywho..yeah it was annoying that this dude would sit there and be like "hit!"

Uhh this isn't right, there was never a see-invis guard at the WFP gate that wandered.

If you look at the comments here it says:

"Only one guard sees invis in WFP." (http://web.archive.org/web/20020214025911/http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?zone=2)

Seeing as Guard Fikus is the only guy listed on Allakhazam's status page as being see invis, that's the only guy that should see invis. He's inside the militia building away from the gate. You shouldn't have evil factions getting killed at the gate by Ledshin aggro'ing. The commentors for Ledshin are flatout wrong.

Also you'll notice that while Guard Fikus is stated to be See Invis by Allakhazam, Guard Ledshin throughout the entire existence of West Freeport is never labeled such by Alla:

Considering that website was pretty on the ball about corrections, and that no one after those two posters ever talked about it, it's quite likely that it's wrong. Either those posters are confusing him for another guard or the chat for that guard page is for someone else.

He usually walks around near the Freeport Militia House entrance.


I would have liked to see him killed a few times on EQ Mac to see if one that doesn't see invis ever spawns. I feel he won't, but want what is classic.

These guards weren't changed between Velious and PoP.

Moreover we used EQ Mac on a very consistent basis to replicate NPC positions/behavior in untouched areas (welcome to the bugs section, thanks for attacking classic EQ cuz you died to guards).
