Can't find it in the usual places but these had a knock back (confirmed working here) and a low damage life tap they casted.

Found a guide that mentions this. The guide refers to similar mobs in Unrest, but says they're also found in Najena at lower levels.

"They aren't all that hard to kill, but you'll want a group, because TTs are casters, either shadow knight or necromancer class (though they didn't have any pets, and they didn't harm touch that I could tell). They cast lifetap- and disease-based spells."

"Notes: They can be dangerous in large numbers; they cast DoTs that will suck your life away. If you are 45+ you should have no trouble, but be careful anyway, for you can still get overwhelmed"

I'm not sure about this. I am reading from posts in 2000 that the whips were rare. Yet people still described life taps as if the were common in the posts I mentioned prior.

" A word of caution, however, these boys hit hard. I have killed about 15 of these and only looted one T-whip.
The bummer about this zone is the aggressive, invis-seeing green elementals. A caster can have quite a time with 3 or 4 of them hitting him. They dont seem to be impressed by your level, although I havent been back there since 23."

I see nothing about casting necro dots/taps here. (http://web.archive.org/web/20020305195730/http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?id=2154)

"Tentacle Terrors are found in both Najena and Unrest. The Terrors in Unrest are level 25+, while the ones in Najena are level 17 to 22.

The whip is a very rare drop from them, the terror spines are slightly more common.

Tentacle Terrors have an interesting "blowback" effect sometimes, which can make fighting them annoying. It's very inadvisable to have your back to a zone line while meleeing them, as you may inadvertantly zone."

They'd likely have a pet if they had necromancer spells.

#1, you are using a source that is from the updated version of the zone.

since widowmistress didn't drop the stiletto of the bloodclaw in classic. it dropped off drelzna up until the revamp where widowmstress was introduced and the stiletto moved to her loot table.

Anyone that played in classic / kunark knows that the tentacle terrors were just mobs with knockback and occasionally lifetapped when they had tentacle whip (which maybe was a 10% rare drop during those eras - later changed to be more rare with the velious revamp).

The date stamp, if accurate, on that post was before Velious release and that is why I used it. I am not arguing one way or the other because I do not recall anything personally. I'm just letting others know that there is some information out there.

Perhaps they are only warriors that cast life tap when the whip is equipped, which sounds about like 10% of the time.
