Screenshot hotkey doesn't work with alt held so:
Spellgems and buff icons are out of whack atm. The swirly shield is spirit of wolf, the red heart is thorncoat, the yellow shield is chloroplast, the blue arm is Skin like nature.
Memmed spells from top down are
Greater Healing (shield icon)
Ensnare (thorny shield icon)
Engulfing Roots (buff arm icon)
Starfire (blank red gem)
Skin Like Nature (hourglass icon)
Ring of Lavastorm (non-classic port icon)
Chloroplast (non-classic shield icon)
Spirit of Cheetah (blank yellow gem)

NiNiK's look like that too. She doesn't like it either. I'm sure she'll forget about it when she remembers that Gukag gave her brownie parts to make chocolate, though.

I changed only my spellui file back to the earlier eqchanges and mine are all correct now.

I can now cast mask of deception without targeting someone, and lev cloak works again. But its showing a Disease resist symbol that of what live uses today for lev, and invis icon for mask of deception

I tried loading the old Spells.txt file from the last update, and the gems are correct. Not sure if that helps

I also used an older spells_us.txt. The file size is 4,769,180, downloaded on 7/2/2010. This fixed my spell gems.
I don't have any problem with my levitate icon. Skeleton form also works like a champ.

Spells with fire icon: "Fire" is targetted aoe rather than Single target.

Spells with healing Icon, Pack regen/chloro are GroupV2 and shifted differently than the others.

Spells with Boot Icon top, wolf Icon bottom Treeform did not have wolf icon and is shifted to blank as well. Share Wolf Form (group v2) is shifted differently

Self Gates are in the correct positioning, group gates are not, if that helps to give a point of reference.
Pattern:
It looks like the spell icons have been shifted in a consistent pattern out of their intended places.
All spell icons of the same type are shifted to a new icon of the same type, the shift variance is determined by the spell's targetting behavior:
Groupv2 are shifted further, Targetted aoe are shifted differently than Groupv2, Self Only are shifted differently than the others, etc, can't test if pbaoe are shifted differently than groupv2 with my current characters.

There were changes made to the spells_us.txt file nearly a month ago for the new spell gem alignment.
Savok made a step by step walkthrough on updating your UI that has a variety of different things available.

And replaced the files in my uifiles\default folder
They're using the correct spell icons now, however the transparency seems off. The Icons are laid on top of the spell gem with boxy corners protruding from the edges, rather than an icon behind the spellgem, showing through the center.

Emo I'm using the spelldat from the WI site with some of my own luclin spellgems and it works perfectly. The problem I have with the whole p99 setup and savok's files are that as a shaman every buff i have looks like an arm and its a pain in the ass for me to figure it out. With bumamgar's spelldat I can use the full luclin gem files and each spell has its own icons which make it alot easier for me to deal with. I don't know what bad side effects it will bring if its not updated to this latest spec but it seems to be fine. I figured the changes may have had something to do with the wolf and skeleton summons. My pet cam out with the old wolf model now and seemed to be fine. No warranties here just my experience. Cheers!

I updated today's patch and have a problem with about 15 spell icons in my spellbook. Those 15 icons are light blue and have no picture. What's worse, I can't memorize them for use. So now I have about 15 spells that can't be used at all. It's making playing impossible for me.
If you look at Emoqq's screen shot, I have the same blue icons he does and possibly for the same necro spells. I know some spells like gather shadows are the same blue ones I have.
I've tried the patch in this thread to no avail. I've tried to revert back to the last patch to no avail.
I believe that I'm going to have to reinstall the game at this point.
Any help would be nice.

I have not tested the new updates yet, but with any new files, just decided to take a peek.
The "Old" spells_us from 7/15/10 has worked flawlessly and opens easily for inspection. However, the "New" 8/2/10 spell_us has trouble opening and reads as some kind of mish mash between japanese and chinese. I have attempted to download the equichanges3 files multiple times but it continues to download this new unreadable script.
Is this file corrupt on your end?

They're using the correct spell icons now, however the transparency seems off. The Icons are laid on top of the spell gem with boxy corners protruding from the edges, rather than an icon behind the spellgem, showing through the center.
I see what's going on now, rather than using the set of icons for spell gems, it's using the square icons that should appear in the buff window.

Use a different text editor, that's just bad luck. "帰" in Unicode is the same bytes as "0^" in ASCII, so something in the new version's data is causing it to "helpfully" assume the text file is in Unicode.

That would be great. I play a Shaman as well, and currently every stat buff I have is the same damn flexing arm icon. Like Swishahouse mentioned, it makes things difficult, and I noticed as well that Savok's files don't fix this.

This is getting complicated...
I might just stick with the Velious igor mortis skeletons instead of having to go through all this spell gem business again. Especially considering that there are so many different combinations of UI's and spellgem sets out there now.
Is there any way to post a zip file that only changes things involving the skeleton and wolf models but nothing else? Because honestly, spell gems have nothing to do with this patch.

I had the same issues. I got the new velious ui to work fine. But my wife wanted the button that loads and saves spell sets incase she dies. We also wanted the updated spellfile and skeletons. But if we updated the spell file with the old velious ui. All the spell gems were funked.
Long story short. 1 hour later we have the updated spell files / models with spell gems all working! We have like half of the old velious ui with half of the new velious ui. We have the load save spell sets and everything updated and working. wooot I couldn't believe i got it to work.

Yeah, they're using the icon that should go in the buff window instead of the image with transparency that should go over the spell gem. Hopefully it's an easy fix.
Also, there is one error left over after the fix that gets the correct icons back to the correct spells. The ward summoned line of spells still erroneously uses a stat buff icon (#3 from his picture, should look like #7). Checked the ward undead line, it's correct.

I'm having the same problem with ugly, looking square graphic in the center, gems. Anyone find a solution yet? I've looked all over the boards and so far it looks like I just have to live with it.

i'm sure it hasn't. remember its volunteer work so sometimes it takes time. In the meantime, i would use the suggestions provided and use the "boxy" gems, OR revert back to the previous spell file and not have to deal with this issue until it is resolved.

and in the first post is a download, grab it and use the files in there in your default ui folder, fixed my problem right up and my gems look fine now.
