I was looking through the EQ castersrealm web archive for enchanter tips when I came across this post:

TL;DR it just says to get a port to Ak'Anon and kill stuff there while stocking up on bone chips from gnome skeles. Then run to Kaladim while /auctioning to buy as many as possible before turning them in.
Does anyone else think this is worth it? Do gnome skeles drop bone chips more often, or are there just more of them than in GFay? So far my level ~2.5 HE enchanter has just been killing everything outside of Felwithe and turning in bat wings to the mage guild chick, it gives barely any xp, probably a lot less than the bone chips one.
If it does look like the best leveling path... any druids willing to port me there? :) I got a few gold I can tip with!

By far, the BEST XP at low levels would be the Gnoll Fang quest in Qeynos / Halas. Killing Blackburrow Gnolls who drop the occasional fang gets you XP plus it's fun. The REAL XP shows up when you turn these fangs in. I leveled up twice during one turn in. It's a pain to get over to the Qeynos area for you but well worth it.
Bleh, get some buffs, rush to befallen, if you have a decent thorns, and a chloro you'll fly through 1-6

Yup, just go to WC, wait a ring, get lvl 50 druid buffs, ding lvl 10 before buffs wear off probably.

make sure you hit everything for at least 1 dmg though, i dont reccomend just pulling whole rooms since you wont get hits on a lot of them and hence wasted exp

Can anyone confirm if this quest is working, and if the xp is decent? If so, what level range and/or % xp per turn in at a specific level would be great. I guess I'm just too much of a slacker at heart, and want to explore all my laziness options. :D
Do gnome skeles drop bone chips more often,
Having killed tons of skeles on my Gnome Necromancer; I would say that from my experience, that all kinds of decaying skeletons drop bone chips at about the same frequency.

The xp is there, it's not that fast. You'll fly through 1-3 and the tedium will set in as you click-click-click for rapidly slowing xp.
{Exp by level before modifiers}
Level.........Exp to reach
................0
................1000
................8000
................27000

Also you'll find yourself getting whipped by anything that can give you xp if you use that solely to level to 7 or 8 - you won't be able to hit anything because your offense/weapon skill are shit, and you'll get smacked down with no mitigation or avoidance because your defense skill is shit. Caster? Defense comment still applies, and the amount of time you'll spend casting your skills up negates any real benefit to the option I present you with below.
Best option? Get a port to BB, bind in Kaladim, hunt solely boners and hand in the chips as you go. This will also yield you a set of small(I think) tattered as quest rewards to fill out your empty slots. Other stuff will aggro, but you can just pick off the skeletons and train the rest to the guards.

As a new character, yes it is one of the fastest. The skeletons in front of Kaladim work just as well as there are many of them and have large agro radius so you dont have to always run to them. A few stacks will bring you to level 5 (assuming you kill enough to get to 3) then being able to KILL gnolls in order to get the fangs is possible (gnoll pups dont drop them). The warrior guildmaster in Qeynos or one of the Halas warrior guildmasters (female barbarian) will both reward you for the fangs. The Halas will give you 5 gold per fang plus an item worth a few silver to a few gold depending on the item to sell. The Qeynos guildmaster gives you a moonstone which you can sell, or give to a bartender by the harbor for a stout which you can drink or sell for 6 silver (more than the moonstone is worth plus additional, yet marginal, experience).

Honestly, it's far easier to make a dorf and just start in Butcherblock. there's a zillion decaying dorf skeletons in the newbie zone, and you're that much closer to your turn in NPC in Kaladim.

One gnoll fang will get you from the start of level two to level three.

That's interesting, never seen those figures before. I wonder if they entered each one by hand (hence hell levels) or used some sort of formula to work out how much exp the next level would cost?

(level-1)^3* (mult*1000).
Here's a short summary on hell levels that I posted in another another discussion.
Arbitrary example to illustrate point.
With Hell levels
Level..............Xp to level
40.................10000
41.................5500
42.................6000
43.................6500
44.................7000
Sum=35000
Without hell levels
Level..............Xp to level
40.................6000
41.................6500
42.................7000
43.................7500
44.................8000
Sum=35000
Here are the actual XP charts for a wood elf druid from the time that hell levels were in game.
Level..............XP to Current Level.......XP to Next Level............Difference
28..................33,067,440..................36 ,879,360..................3,811,920
29..................36,879,360..................40 ,973,520..................4,094,160
30..................40,973,520..................49 ,896,000..................8,922,480
31..................49,896,000..................55 ,053,768..................5,157,768
32..................55,053,768..................60 ,555,264..................5,501,496
33..................60,555,264..................66 ,411,576..................5,856,312
34..................66,411,576..................72 ,633,792..................6,222,216
35..................72,633,792..................86 ,436,000..................13,802,208
36..................86,436,000..................94 ,058,496..................7,622,496
When they smoothed out hell levels, it sort of followed my 'arbitrary example'. Hell levels were the (previous level + 1.25 times that level), roughly.
(level-1)^3* (mult*1000).
Is there any info on how much exp a standard blue mob will give at a given level? Would be interesting to find out how many of x mobs are needed to Ding.

Last night we were power leveling my rogue Azeth in MM, Kashi was on Meepo sitting on the Caitiff spawn in Mistmoore while I was turning in the flowers to Ssynthi to correct my Temple of Sol Ro faction.
Now, I do not have any numbers, but on every 3-4 turn ins I was seeing a tick of blue move on my 22 rogue's exp bar. I have had Azeth in MM since level 13 farming Caitiff while Kash simultaneously PL'd me. I wish I had done this quest in the early teens to get a fair estimate on the amount of exp it gives.
What I'm getting at is as far as I know the quest is available to any level any class and requires only your faction with Temple of Sol Ro to be above Threatening. If the roamer (Caitiff PH) is dead the quest is 100% doable by any class/race/level.
Seems like an extremely easy way to PL someone from 1-10 at least.

A few weeks ago I helped a friend who wanted to try playing P99. He rolled a Wood Elf bard so I figured I'd run him to Kaladim and give him the almost full bag of bone chips I had on me. Got him from 1-4 with just the bone chip turn ins.

skipping content by powerleveling? That sounds about as fun as stepping on ants.. and about as challenging. The only time I would ever see powerleveling as viable is if a regular group is suffering from lack of a cleric or chanter or whatever; and powerleveling that class up to the group's level so they can better enjoy the game.

or consider that not everyone missed out on cluster fuck grouping and others may wish to skip the 20-40 drama fest in MM/SplitPaw/Guk/CT :)

I tried the bat wings quest at around level 4 I think, and it barely gave any xp, could hardly see the bars move if at all per 4 turned in..
CB belts and shoulderpads I remember always giving tons of xp, I have like 60 of the belts but have not turned in any to check yet here. I remember bone chips not giving much xp and you have to do a bunch of clicking, might be better off selling them, haven't checked on this server yet though.
I just tried the gnoll fang quest in Qeynos, just 4 gnoll fangs took me from one bubble to lvl 4 to one bubble to level 5. Those dropped off the 7 or 8 gnolls i killed while leveling..

Gnoll fangs are good xp up to 12 or 13. Sure, xp slows down once you reach lvl10 but the flipside is that you can easily massacre those green gnolls for even more fangs. That way you can either group up and go deeper into BB for 'real' xp, or you solo greens and blues for still very good xp through fangs.
Plus, you get shitloads of faction with Qeynos through the fangs and moonstones.

Curse you high levels that steamroll BB!
Just kidding, I understand the theory, but I was in there last night and struggled to find a spawn due to a very high level bard camping the entire zone. Given, he had the decency to wait until the wee hours of the night/morning (depending on perspective) so as not to mess up prime time for most players.
