The third wave of the proc only hits me, never any npc's. (Gale of poison)

Proc is a rain spell. They hit 4 times maximum (yourself excluded).

Were you fighting with two mobs nearby? IE it hit two mobs each twice (total of 4 hits)?

If so that's working as intended.

If you were to be fighting 4 mobs it would hit all 4 mobs once and then hit yourself 3 times (cause EQ hates rain spells)

Also if you have your pet in there he counts as a wave but will resist. Poor rain spells of suckiness with so much potential.

A fantastically "classic" Verant feature meant to screw over Wizards.

Creates a rain of poison, causing three waves of 122 damage to everything in a small radius around your target.

Only 3 waves on AoE Rain spells. If you hit a single npc/pc it will hit "3" times. When you hit multi npc/pcs it cut off the rain spell to two waves (I think I recall on live it hit both people for two, and the final one was a full resist. Wizards questioned this, eqdevs had no idea and just said it was intended, but it was a bug but later was said it was intended and it was changed)

Your rain spells won't hit all targets each wave till a later time. I forget when the patch happened though.

K I wasn't clear.

Rains have 3 Waves
Rains have 4 Hits available
Pet eat hits until February 2001 patch
Caster eats all 3 waves (doesn't count against hits)

Other than the Pet eating hits, the other 3 things are true even in 2014 EQLive.

If you cast on a single mob. You hit him all 3 waves.
If you cast on two mobs. You hit each for 2 waves.
If you cast on three mobs. You hit two of the mobs for a single wave and one of the mobs for 2 waves.
If you cast on four mobs. You hit all four for a single wave.

If at any time you are standing too close to the AE Rain, you will get hit regardless of how many mobs or hits your rain has left.

Can log onto live or P99 and test. It will always function as I described above. If it doesn't on P99, then that's a bug. But reading the OP's bug report makes me assuming he was procing it near a pet or with 2 mobs in the vicinity.
