Screaming Mace

I turned in the Dwarven Mace to the Elvin Priest in Crushbone, forgeting to give Prayer Cloth. He ate it. I gave prayer Cloth and he ate that too without giving me the mace.

Assistance please. It took all day to farm the Shield from the trainer and now I have nothing to show for the quest.
