So, anyone know the story here?
Was the Griffon Sword the only reward for turning in Tormax's head, or were the boots upgraded at some point?

Looks like the Baton of Flame and Dragonspine Rapier shouldn't drop from Zlexak until the Wurmscale Fistwraps and Frosted Ice Spike drops from Cekenar:

Cami's Bracelet of Vigor should have the Invigor clicky effect in classic, not Serpent Sight as it's listed in the wiki. Was the casting time still 1.5? I'd suspect instant cast time to match similar items like Crown of Rile.

Dragonrib Club shouldn't drop from Lord Vyemm initially? http://www.legacyofsteel.net/Archives/Post/2001-10-12
"Vyemm dropped two of those new clubs, Dragonrib Whatevers."

You hail him for more dialogue prior to turning in the sword for boots.

Right, but was the turn in for the boots/helm available on velious launch or added later? If it was available immediately, looks like the boots got upgraded.

As far as I recall all three rewards were available from start. Boots weren't changed at all, they were always the way I put'em in on p99 wiki. Never seen any evidence of them being changed in the timeline.

"Vyemm dropped two of those new clubs, Dragonrib Whatevers."
Vyemm being one of the harder dragons in NToV, it wouldn't surprise me to have people finding new items from him in October 2001, or at least publicizing them. LoS' first Vulak kill was at the end of August. http://www.legacyofsteel.net/Archives/Post/2001-08-29
Zam's earliest entry for Dragonspine Rapier was October 25, 2001.

Zlexak beastiary page has a comment about his loot being crap.

Afterlife posted their triplets kill from May 2001 only 1 piece of loot each:

More North Wing Victories!
Three more of the Temple of Veeshan's North Wing dragons were killed tonight by Afterlife. Cekenar, Zlexak, and Sevalak were all slain - with Zlexak being a first kill server-wide!
More pictures are here.
The BEST drop of the night

SEVALAK
Sevalak dropped:

February 24, 2001 capture of Tokyo2001.com with Yelinak's quest speech asking for Head. There is no further text after that point or quest rewards. Not definitive evidence by any means.

Apparently if you now turn some Griffon Sword thing into Yelinak, you can get this:

Yeah, that plus the quote from the first link I posted:
"Just wanted to post the updated quest reward for turning the Griffon Sword back into Yelinak"
Makes it seem like you couldn't turn the Griffon Sword back in initially. But not sure if this is "hard enough" evidence.
I suspect the triplets got changed sometime around October 2001 to drop 2 items (or 1-2?), and additionally 2 new (better) items were added to each of Zlexak and Cekenar's loot tables (Baton of Flame + Dragonspine Rapier & Wurmscale Fistwraps + Frosted Ice Spike). Sevalak never got the new loot treatment, not sure why other than the fact that it was easier than the other two.
It's also worth noting that the "new loot" was usually better than the stuff that dropped initially. Compare the Baton of Flame to Kreizenn's Flame:

The Baton of Flame gets upgraded at some point, both in stats and to allow Rogues to use it. When did this occur, and did these two changes happen concurrently? Compare to the "upgraded" stats on the wiki page: http://wiki.project1999.com/Baton_of_Flame
Edit: Just noticed something strange after posting this. BST is listed as a usable class on the Baton of Flame, but that was posted on October 24th, a little over a month before Shadows of Luclin (with the Beastlord class) released!
