It is with a heavy heart, I nerf myself. The evidence is irrefutable:
Shaman's Crucible 2001 (https://web.archive.org/web/20001110004300/http://www.eqforge.com/shaman/alchemy/)
Kilva's Blistering Flesh - Scorching Skin, 6 to 13 point damage shield
Kilva's Blistering Skin - Scorching Skin, 6 to 13 point damage shield (level \ 4 + 1 {round down})
Both should have the same effect. Maxing at 13 DS.
You may say, "But Daldaen, surely that is a mistake, Verant wouldn't be dumb enough to make two different potions, one more costly than the other, and give them the same effect."

Kilva's Skin of Flame potion has been changed. It no longer has the same effect as the Kilva's Blistering Flesh potion.
Until 4 months into Velious, these potions should have the same effect. Sad panda.

I may have logs from EQMac on my efforts to recharge certain 10 charges but dunno if 2002 is too late for this.

Lucy lists them as having a 2.0 sec cast time and the history doesn't show anything changing that.
Is there a reason they are instant here?
Also, further potion infos...
It would appear that potions are not stackable with each other, however, each seems to be stackable with our regular buffs, and a few potions do seem to interact with each other provided stats do not overlap. Several Herbs such as Blue Vevain Bulb, Valerian Root, and Figwort act as potion boosters, increasing the bonuses you get from each potion when created with these additional herbs. You must be standing still in order to drink the potion. Also, it should be noted that the Infravision, Levitate, and Water Breathing potions require components to be used.
So Levitate and EB potions should require the bat wings/fish scales. WTF Reagant does Serpent Sight require? Snake Scales?

Potus is just upset because way more people use them in pvp on r99 than back in the day on Live.

Hrmm could've sworn they were instant here. Maybe I'm just thinking the one from the Bug Collection quest though.

yeah the shaman one is 2 seconds, bug collection is instant. that's why that one is so great.

We never had this here. At least they were all instant cast.
And if you think Troll's Essence might be some uber potion that made this skill worth it, it added 3 HP and 10 Strength (from the spdat).

DS Potions need to use the same spell effect.
Levitate and EB Potions should require reagents
