Doesn't seem to be working correctly. Example: I was grouping with a few people and tanking on my monk, I had about 12 buffs casted on me. I had a mob cast root on me which was the top slot override at the time (had sow on) then he casted dispell on me again and instead of removing the top slot buff/debuff it removed my second slot buffer which was another beneficial buff. I have had this happen several times with other buffs/debuffs on and instead of removing the detrimental buff it kept on removing the beneficial buffs. Doesn't seem to be working as intended or as how it would work for a player casting buffs / dispell on npc's.

Noticed this on red, not sure if it's doing the same thing on blue.

How is that working as intended? Dispell is suppose to remove both beneficial and detrimental spells.

There was a Dispell change later in EQ that made it so that they would remove all beneficial a before removing detrimentals. But this was way later on in the timeline.

The reason you are seeing another buff be removed over root is because of what I explained here:

It's random. You disagree, cool. Find evidence on how it works from classic. Otherwise what Haynar worked out on live is what we will keep here.

It appears that our system has two randoms.

1. What the buff/debuff rolls. This is a random between 1-8.
2. What power the dispel rolls. This is a random between 1-4 on some spells, 1-8 on other spells, dragon AEs always roll a 9 (guaranteed removal of top slot).

Annul magic would be a great name for an EQ themed porn. Not that such a thing should ever be made.

Well, thanks for the reason behind it instead of just saying "working as intended."

I hope thats nearly as annoying to you as people posting threads without using search is to me.
