The door to the hermit's house in Southern Karana will not open.

It never did, he's a hermit and all.
Or you can target him and say " I will kill you hermit" or something like that and he will come out and agro you.

I've been able to pull him out by casting snare. I just thought it was weird because I had read he Bard quest.

/tar a_hermit, pull with spell or ranged weapon through wall. Easy-peezy.

Pretty good exp from 20-23 and the chance of an FS weapon drop. Not a bad camp for a druid. No faction loss and the area is pretty safe to kite.
