Every chanter pet is using the same dull model from lvl 1-49
Is it possible to fix them so they go from
1 >: Short Sword
16->: Mino Axe
29->: Scimitar
44->: Long Sword (std 2h sword model)
Another thing:
The lvl 16 pet, Shaalee's animation seems awfully weak.
I was summoning pets up upon hitting 16 like mad to test it
lvl 12 pet spell: Hits for 17 top.
lvl 16 pet spell: Hits for 18 top - as it seems. I havn't gotten any better yet.
Can someone confirm that the lvl 16 pet just isn't any better ? I had thaught the 16 pet would hit more like around 20 for a top summon.

Sometimes I've had the level 16 pet hit for 20. It also double attacks you know. I think the "top summon" level 16 pet is amazing (my enchanter is 17 right now so I have a good understanding of the quality of this pet spell).
edit: also if the model stuff you mention is classic, that would be really cool to see implemented.

Level 8 or level 12 pet was an axe iirc... memory might be wrong, but i remember the level 8 one because i had to walk to highpass for it...

The level you get with a pet is random within a specific range.

You are correct that they did, and the animation weaponry exist in the game. Currently all animations are using the same weapon. See if you can dig up something concrete on the levels the weapons changed. It would be a very easy fix.

And yes omni, it might have been lvl 12 it changed to the mino axe model.
It's just one of those small things I always liked in EQ .. "Hey ... ma pet looks cooler now"
or spell effects that get upgraded as you lvl :)
