Pertaining to the March 23, 2015 patch
If skipping stone is placed in ammo slot, it causes client crash!

So good it will crash you when you move it from between your thrown weapon and ammo slots.

Hour ago I put the Skipping Stone in my ranged slot, with Shuriken of the Tranquil(s) in my ammo slot. Tested some throws in PVE (and in PVP) - the stone never poofed. Took Shurikens out of my ammo slot, tested again and it said "You are out of ammo!", but the stone still did not poof. I was still able to "throw" but not actually do damage/aggro. It would however face the target and even give skill ups.
Relogged a few times, moved the stone around. Couldn't do anything to make it poof (however if you put it in ammo slot, it crashes you, as mentioned above). I eventually just deleted it because it was obviously a pre-nerf Skipping Stone.
Side note: I logged on my alt, tested one throw and it poofed. Multiple guildies tried the same thing and it poofed too.
Long story short, I guess there is still potential ways to bug out the skipping stone for unlimited use.

Not actually playing on the server, makes it more difficult to know what the actual issues are.
Not exactly sure what ppl were doing with skipping stones in the first place.

Inifinite use thrown item. The inifinite use part is the bug. I'd advocate banning the accounts of all the exploiters but then the raid guilds would have noboy left but paladins, shadowknights, & druids to kill dragons for them.

I had to reorder a few things to work with the delayed dmg. So that may be what made it buggy. Could care less abt banning anyone over this.

Ammo or ranged? The client should crash if you attempt to put a stack into ranged slot.
The issue is it sees them as a 'stack'. These will no longer stack, so once your current 'stack' is gone, everything should be fine.

Some skipping stones are definitely still working, even without ammo slotted. I've seen two different people selling "pre-nerf" skipping stones for 30k+. I was grouped with one and his certainly still worked. Thanks for the patch and the great server :)

might be the ones that had them stacked before the stacking change ...will prolly disapear when the stacks run out

Can you make it so that someone throwing a "legacy" skipping stone also causes them to throw throw their primary weapon? thx

I think the issue is the Dec 1st patch with skipping stones possibly made two different item codes. Hence, the people that had them before that have the "pre-nerf" stones and if you acquired it via drop from the mob after the patch, it was the "nerfed" stone.

Looks like the devs never even knew about this exploit that everyones been using for months.
now that they know that this specific throwing item has an assortment of issues revolving around it, perhaps they will dig deeper into the item and figure it out.

I'm not saying that's when they became infinite. I'm saying that might be the time where there are some people who still have their stones and some people have had theirs poof.

There were was a bug report back after the december patch and it was marked as fixed. So yes dev's knew about it.

unless its a stack of like 99, i still have at least 1 that says "you have run out of ammo" but the item persists and is still throwable

Yes, they are disappearing after a couple hours of pulling from the reports I've gotten from other monks in guild.
