friend was very into these games, and I used to watch him play for many hours on a sat afternoon....or try and chat up his sister...
Always prefered strategy games myself to this sort of thing.
Lacks a bit of atmosphere, which is partly down to having no room in memory for music?
3D games always felt so cutting edge back i the 8bit era, and I guess they were infact the bleeding edge. 90% fail to impress now, but some were well designed and I guess influenced so many of the 16bit games that were written (amiga etc)

Ultima 6 and 7 were my first real isometric experiences that I remember in great detail

Have to be honest PC games didnt really take off in uk till 92/93 onwards....
anyone got some 8bit favourites?
I dont recall any isometric stuff on the amiga, must of been some though/

Loved UO. Played on Baja server.
I remember playing an Atari game called Panther where you were a spaceship or plane and you had to pick people up and shoot other flying objects. Pretty sure that was in the 80's. After that it would have to have been Paperboy.
