why have shm mobs suddenly started dispelling all the time? Not something that used to happen.
Why can a dispel land on me when a mob is 20 lvls lower and ALL other spells are resisted.
This is not classic casting behaviour.
whats going on?

I don't think dispel can be resisted anymore - and the same patch that made that so also made npc casters favor casting dispel over pretty much everything.

dispels are beneficial aka unresistable
learn to use clickies

that fair enough on raids, but not in general exp zones.
was in crystal caverns 2 weeks ago and didnt get a single dispell cast on me by the shamans, was tehre for 4hrs + farming velium.
yesterday was tehre 2 hrs and had at least 5 cast on me. same thing at hhk gobs.
this didnt used to happen. It is not correct behaviour for these mobs and should be corrected...its detrimental to mid range exp grps/
Probably another malicious change by heynar to upset the playerbase.

I don't know whether mobs dispelling this frequently is classic. However, in the meantime, it's actually an enjoyable challenge to keep my buffs intact when facing dispelling mobs. Before I played on Red, where opponents often dispel you, I didn't know the value of clickies or junk buffs and I didn't pay attention to my buff order. I now use a spyglass, goblin earring, Bracer of the Hidden, and other clickies, some instant and some with cast times, to protect my buffs. Do most players on Blue do that? Perhaps only on raids? Anyway, it's a satisfying little mini-game to counter dispels with the tools available. If this doesn't get changed soon (or at all), you should embrace the challenge. Don't just sit there and let mobs dispel your SoW and HP buffs...watch for those glowing purple dispel spell particles and hit that spyglass or goblin earring!

You shouldn't be able to resist the spell dispel, but it shouldn't always guarantee a spell is removed. Each dispell has a specific amount of chances at removal.
For example, pillage enchantment has a chance to remove 0 to 4 buffs. It should never be resisted, but may remove 4 buffs, no buffs, or anything in between.

the way dispels are currently coded, they are guaranteed to remove the number of buffs listed, but they have a chance to skip stronger buffs
right now pillage and recant basically always remove the top 4, cancel magic often skips and dispels something down he list

had a goblin chain cast dispel on me in hhkeep yesterday....cast it 3 times one after the other.(the first thing it cast after being agroed)
the mobs must be coded to RNG their spell set?
shm mobs in classic always opened with dots or cold dd, never with a dispel.
this is simple BADLY coded, should be fixed.

There are spell sets in the db, but the source dictates how they choose spells from that list. Dispelling a target because it has buffs may sit too high in the logic order. Dispel should be occasional and even happen if the target has no buffs.

Kinda funny when a mob puts a big dot on ya and then next spell is a dispell that removes the dot :)

Here is the old thread that I posted some issue
https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=178639
as a Shaman it was getting a little ridiculous having all your buffs stripped at the start of any fight with a npc that could cast dispel. Also the randomness of having your 5th buff down (SoW) stripped even though you had junker buffs up was crazy.

appears to be fixed?!

will test further, but atmo ...good job...
