Players are using charm to plant NPCs in locations they are not supposed to be. If an NPC is charmed and told to guard or sit down and the person who charmed them camps the NPC will stay there forever. This is not a big deal by its self but people have been progressively more and more annoying with this bug which has let me to post this.

Someone moved the druid ring NPC in lavastorm into the middle of the bottom of the pit of lava and made her sit. This is the only merchant in the game that sells the level 49 druid spells.

This can also be used to exploit some quest that involving traveling within a zone.

is this a bug or a 'feature' of classic?

Sounds like a bug. In classic, the charmed mobs would go back.

Of course, their buffs would stay until they wore off :D

was wondering how the dar that should be in front of lord keeps ending up parked in "safe" hall over and over. For sure a bug

This was reported a while back, but I do not think it is an easy fix. I'm fairly confident using this to grief others by moving vendors/parking guards will catch some hefty punishments when the GM's check the log though, I would avoid using it.

I bet it's Fansy doing this.
They won't do anything to him though.... he's a good guy.

Is this not allowed? Noticed a few moved vendors and started moving Tran myself in Oasis (for selling from specs).

Bump. Listening to OOC, this seems to be one of the biggest problems on the entire server.

I could be wrong, but in Classic, didn't mobs wander back to their bind point (or their usual pathing) after charm wore off???

We are aware of the problem, we are working on fixing it. We do not condone this behavior and anyone caught doing it will be dealt with.

The almost total lack of Charm breaks for players with uber CHA is a completely different issue. Yes, it is important - but it's not the problem being discussed here.

THIS problem is that the mobs do not return after charm wears off and aggro is clear (like they would after they killed you or you zoned, for example).

So please don't confuse the two issues! :D

Great news Xzerion - thanks!

Does anyone know of a way to get the mobs to "not bug out?" I've charmed them before, set them to guard, killed stuff, then set them to follow and zoned and they still return to the same spot. :(

Any fool proof system? I'm don't have the time to test it out tonight.

Just add a check in source for the spell effect wearing off in a disengaged position. It should be a simple addition.

I don't know, Jify. But I like your mustache.
