Shaman Spell Scribing Bug

The low level Shaman spells are not scribing in accordance to their level. For example, the level 4 spell "Frost Rift" says "You need to be level 5 to learn this spell."

Furthermore, once this message comes up it is impossible to set the spell back into your inventory. At that point, if you exit the inventory you cannot bring it back up until zoning again. Thank you for your assistance in solving this problem.

Not really a bug, per se.

Shamans (and all wis casters) get spells at 1, 5, 9, 14, 19 instead of 1, 4, 8, 12, 16, 20 like int casters do.

The 'level 4' shaman spell you've seen is there because later on (post-classic) EverQuest casters were given their spells at every level (so 1,2,3,4 and so on...).

In project1999, the level 4 spell you have IS a level 5 spell.

Frost Rift is a level 5 shaman spells.

It wasn't changed to 4 until much later. Make sure you follow the setup guide (http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2651) correctly and installed the right spell file.

INT casters get theirs every four levels (1, 4, 8, 12, 16, etc). That's where your confusion comes from.

WIS casters (clerics, shamen and druids, paladins too eventually) get their spells every five levels. So your spells are available at 1, 5, 9 and then every five levels (so 14, 19, 24, 29, etc.).

So hold on to those spells and use them when you're level five!

Oh. And make sure you're using a "classic" spell list (http://moestaverne.com/p1999wiki/index.php/Shaman) when looking at which spells you can use when. There are huge differences between what is "classic" and available here and what you find on Live.

More importantly, the fact that the spell says it is Level 4 means you don't have the spell file.
