Required level to equip: Narandi's Lance & Club of the Ice Ocean

This is mostly for future timeline correct content as you have said you will not be using pre upgraded weapon stats for ToV weapons if they were within Velious. The stats on Narandi's Lance changed in October 2001.

Indeed. The Damage Bonus was 17 when I was lvl 55. At 56, it's 18. When I had a lvl 60 warrior friend look at it in the trade window, she said the Damage bonus showed up as 28!!
As Bale posted, the damage bonus doesn't look like it goes up incrementally. I'd be willing to bet there's a HUGE jump between 59-60.
Since it was upgraded to 44/45 this last patch, I've been hitting for an average of 120-150 with the occasional 200+. With my Strength buffed to 255 and with Call of the Predator, I've been getting max hits in the 250s.

That also hints to damage bonus being shown on items, but I don't have additional info on that as of yet.

i just got this to day did a pet of testing and u cant use it tell 55 so now got to lv up big time

I got this lance at level 52 and could not equip it. I just made 55 this week, went to bank and was able to equip it. As soon as I did I noticed the dmg bonus was 27, so maybe they tweaked it up again. My character is a 55 pally on Brell server.

Verant has sneakily implemented level limits on some items. They have NOT changed the "Cannot Equip this item..." message though.

Its been confirmed that there are now items that you have to be a specific level to even EQUIP the item much less proc the effect.

You need too be Level 51 min to equip the item.

If anyone sees any more please add, but so far I've only found these that have a hard level to equip on them.

That is an October 2001 post, so it sounds like yes, this was active during Velious?

I'm wondering because the post was in October, and the previous poster had mentioned it was upgraded in a patch.

So I need to know if Narandi's Lance had a level requirement since December 2000, or if it was added later in the October 2001 patch that upgraded its stats.

By the way!
You have to be level 55 to even WIELD this item. This is the first item I've heard of like this. I can't confirm this firsthand because I got it at lvl 55.
But a Paladin on Prexus was nearly stomped to death for trying to sell this awarded item since he was awarded it over other who could and would use it. He was level 54 and he claimed he could not equip it.

Two-Handed Weapons have been given an increased damage bonus for characters over level 50. Also, certain post-epic quality two-handers have been improved.

According to the dates, the claim that the item has a required level 55 to equip was the 5th and the patch increasing 2h damage was the 8th. So it *probably* existed before the patch going back to Velious launch.

Certainly existed before the first October patch.

Pending update:

-Narandi's Lance has a required level of 55. Its stats are upgraded in ~Oct2001.
-Club of the Ice Ocean has a required level of 51.
