When were the majority of the new baking and drink recipes added to the game? I vaguely remember this.. but I honestly didn't care at the time.

Were halas 10 lb meat pies classic?

Were any foods better than other foods prior to the flavor text? Did iron ration *really* last longer than ration?

Here's a link discussing what I think is a giant list of recipes to remove*.
Best thing I have found so far. http://p218.ezboard.com/BAKING-velous-cazic-thule-luclin-May-8th-patch/fbruinsmarauders66408frm7.showMessage?topicID=3.to pic

Any baker or brewer shed some light on this situation?

Just doing a quick check, I found all (most?) recipes listed by era.

Classic: http://www.eqtraders.com/recipes/recipe_page.php?article=147&rsa=Baking&sub=oldworld&sb=item&menustr=080020020000 Edit: Seems this lists Vah Shir shaped cookies, so I'm guessing its not 100% classic.

Also Iron Rations lasted longer than rations, hence the only reason to buy them. Same with Fuzzlecutter Formula 5000 lasting longer than water flasks. As for the values of how long each lasted, I have no idea where you'd be able to find that info.

To my knowledge the durations should at least be accurate. There shouldn't be any stats on food yet, not sure when that was introduced, still looking.

EDIT: It's not classic as far as recipes go but it has durations:

http://www.mboards.eqtraders.com/eq/showthread.php?23015-Everything-Edible

It also mentions things like how food lasts longer when you don't click to eat it.

Also, not every race ate food at the same rate to my knowledge... as if you wanted this to become more complicated. I'm pretty sure large races and Iksar all ate faster than the other races.

I definitely remember the patch where food became different. Cause it pissed monks off. They could no longer carry milk and muffins, the two lightest foods, because they ate them too fast.

In the beginning, no food nor water lasted longer than another, it was merely flavor. Later, near the end of Kunark I believe is when food "meant something."

Not that my personal statement would carry much weight, but I know for a fact that 10 Pound Halas Meat Pie is -NOT- classic, it came out during Luclin. I remember it being very expensive when it was first out, along with the +5 All resist cake of some sort.

Not to go off topic, but if you're looking into non-classic stat food, I would also look into the Race illusion potions shamans are making, along with the ones that port to Everfrost, Inn. Swamp, etc.

Are you sure Iron Rations actually last longer? I thought the only difference was weight. You pay more for lighter food.

Iron rations lasted longer

Halas 10lbs were luclin

ping fuzzlecutter lasted a longass time

halflings, ogres, trolls, and barbarians ate faster than the rest

This is not a major issue to me. If it is going to be a lot of work then I would suggest you fix more important things like spells. Thistles, Levitate, etc.

Pretty sure iron rations lasted significantly longer than regular rations. I started playing about 3-4 months after release and remember being very pleased when I discovered them.

I never drank fuzzlecutter formula until Kunark era so I can't talk about it's status in release, but it has been a longer lasting drink for as long as I know.

Any baker with a good memory? Tell me about stat food.

Was there anything besides Chardok sandwich (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=6838&mid=100332216860944)? I had one of those, had to make sure not to eat it. had 50hp on it.

What all should have stats? prekunark-velious.

After a bit of sleuthing, I found an archived page of eqtraders.com from March of 2000, prior to the release of Kunark.

http://web.archive.org/web/20000512012957/http://www.eqtraders.com/

It does list several stat recipes such as Blackened Tier'Dal and Hot and Spicy Toelings. Noteably absent are the "big" recipes such as Misty Thicket Picnics and Grobb Liquidized Meat. However, as the incomplete recipe list shows, they weren't sure about several combinations.

I also did some checking of the list of "Old World" baking recipes on the current eqtraders website and of the recipes that I did check, including the "big" recipes, all of the ingredients can be found in the pre-kunark "classic" world on vendors or from mobs.

Don't think right clicking food wasn't classic either :p not that that matters though.

I bought some pickles from the ogre in FP, they had +1 sta on them! Definitely don't remember any stats in classic. at all.

so fish rolls weren't an enduring meal?

Banquet sized meal :p No idea, I was never fussed with food / drink in classic. Can't remember if it made a difference or not. I definitely recall buying rations, but then buying iron rations because they lasted a lot longer.

Didn't start buying fuzzlecutter till velious, where it definitely lasted longer than a water flask.

Food duration were implemented April 17th, 2001:

http://www.tski.co.jp/baldio/patch/20010417a.html

This is also when stat food was first implemented.

We're talking 2 years after launch.

I can rule out the Misty Thicket Picnics as a baking recipe. According to the http://www.eqtraders.com/items/show_item.php?item=1139&menustr=035000000000 you need "Mature Cheese" to complete the recipe. This requires an item called "Rennet." The only old world supply of that item on live are in the revamped Freeport on vendors that didn't exist prior to that.

Not only that, but after checking the archived eqtraders website, the first mention of Rennet that I was able to find was not until after Luclin was released and then, only on a vendor in Fungus Grove and Shadowhaven. Near as I can tell, the "big" recipes were added with Luclin.
