There is starting to be more and more noise and chatter and excitement out there about P1999, and the population of our little world here is steadily rising.

Have the devs thought about a point at which they would drop global OOC and go all-out-classic, per-zone, OOC?

It would be a first (afaik) for an eq emu server, and would make a helluva statement.

My feeling is that there are few enough zones (being classic) and enough players (being more popular every day) that it makes sense to pull the trigger and make OOC be per-zone only. If not now, soon anyway.

Whaddya all think?

There are 434 players; and presumably, that means unique players, online right now.

That is more then PEQ ever got. Plus PEQ, 300 people = 250 people at best.

I've noticed that I need to filter out OOC/Auction. I haven't done that since Live.

The #'s are growing but you can simply turn off OOC or move it to another chat window if necessary.

There is already a zone wide chat - SHOUT.

In the early days of the server they attempted to turn off /ooc and it really fucked shit up. There were still 300+ people playing at that time.

Trying to find groups is hard enough as it is for level 20-40, don't debilitate them even more.

Removing serverwide OOC will seriously put a dent on the server.

Here's a novel idea. Would it be possible to make groups? Like Antonica - OOC / Odus - OOC / etc?

I mean, of course, once the population gets to the point where OOC flies so fast it's unreadable and useless. I think it's fine now.
