They have the correct spell effect now, but the sound is back on both songs. :(

Also, Manasong's buff icon does not show up anymore.

edit: same for Psalms, Rhythms...

edit: Angstlich's Appalling Screech spell effect has changed. Not sure if this is intentional.

Confirming this, mana song and bard song have sound effects on every pulse. Manasong has no icon on the songs window.

This is intended on the mana song, mana song is supposed to be a PULSE based song, and not a buff like it currently was.

They were talking about this for months, but maybe they finally got it working as they wanted? I'm not entirely sure, but I think it'd be best for an official response.

Last year they took away the sound aspect by changing the animation. It was still pulsing but did have an icon. Apparently the icon was not classic so they removed that but apparently inadvertently re-triggered the sound effect animation that's not classic(the sound aspect) and hell of annoying.

also - we did some tests with the manasong and did not see much of a difference in mana regen while playing it.

Have you tested to see if multiple bards are giving an increased mana regen (since pulse based means that it is beneficial for multiple bards singing mana song)

You're 100% correct - supposed to be pulse with no icon. Thanks for the correction.

Mana regen should be somewhere between 3 and 7 per tick (or pulse) depending on your level... If memory serves 7 is at level 48.

So since mana song is pulse based, would this mean that to most efficiently regen your groups mana, rather than leaving manasong running (pulsing every 6 seconds) continually activating it (pulsing every 3 seconds) is the most effective way to use it? And since there is no icon and it functions more as a pulse than as a buff (i.e. for a duration) would that mean that twisting anything with it would greatly reduce it's functionality? i.e. if you twist 4 songs instead of continually mashing manasong you are getting 1 manasong pulse every 12 seconds as opposed to 1 pulse every 3.

I did some rough testing on this last night, but given the scenario (buffed caster raiding) my results came back less than ideal. She was getting fluctuating mana regen every 3 seconds, I assume due to my manasong pulse not lining up with her natural mana regen tick, but she was also getting this effect while I was twisting which would contradict it losing it's effectiveness while doing so. Anybody have raw numbers supporting the most efficient use of this song or willing to test it with me sometime tonight? Let me know! Thanks.

McBard - I can't remember for sure off the top of my head, but doesn't mana regen drop to 0 if you are running? Might be easier to test your pulses that way to be sure you're not getting anything on the server tick.

The bard fear song graphical effect has changed as well. Now it appears the same as BBB. Before this last patch it was correct.. or at least how I remember it looking (skulls floating around, etc.)

If this is how it should be, disregard..

We got rid of the sound last time, by changing the spell effect to something that was not perfect, but had no sound. It is back to what it was before, so the sound is back too.

The effect with no sound worked fine! I actually preferred it anyway.

Yes, that is how it should be. You should be able to pulse it better than leaving it playing.

I have no idea if that's how it is going now, though.

That is how it works now.

Also, I prefer the current graphic. With the noise. Call it annoying if you want, I don't mind it.

Fixed.

Correct particle with no sound.
