I have a mithril 2h. From level 1-10 I was hitting for 21 max, just like live. 10-19 I was hitting for 40 max, just like live. Come level 20 full damage cap should be removed, I am now hitting for 42 max, with a 21 damage weapon, thats x2 the weapon damage for the obvious. - This is as a Shadow Knight.
My level 50 shaman has an 18 damage weapon, he is hitting for 36 max, x2 the weapon damage for the obvious.
Shaman has 120 strength, shadow knight has 178.
Either or should be hitting for more then x2 the weapon damage, right?

Bump before it goes beyond page 2.

The damage cap is pretty depressing. My paladin has hit for the same amount since level 10, he is now level 30.

yeah it sucks. There should have been another damage raise at 20 but it never came. The damage goes up ever so slightly each level if you have enough strength, but it's pretty pathetic really.
Hitting for 56 with a 19 damage weapon and 188 strength at 35 on my SK. It makes me cry.

There is a difference between a damage cap and a damage bonus. At level 20 the damage cap is lifted allowing you to hit for more than ~40. At approx level 25 characters start to receive a damage bonus, allowing them to hit harder than the usual (weapon damage x 2) model. The damage bonus continues to increase every few levels.
After some testing, the damage bonus appears to be working correctly, though it may not be exactly like on live.
