Bound myself at zone in at lower guk undead zone in line. Downstairs from savant room I was about to die so I gated out. Mob at that location was casting on me - gate worked and I was back at zoneline and the nuke landed and killed me.

Ya, while i don't recall any specific memories of whether there was an absolute limit to the range they gave to MOBs, they were given the ability to cast on you regardless of range or LOS. their only requirement was to have LOS of you when they begin to cast.
