it's the server first. you (and I as well) can have your (our) opinion about how it was attained, but the fact is that it is the server first.

If the gms handed out a fiery avenger as a gm event award before sky was released, and after I sacrificed months of my social life staying home every weekend to be there for sky's opening... yeah, I'd be fucking pissed. I would probably have rage quit after a spectacular display of hatred to the gm staff. However, the point being that the recipient of that FA would be regarded as server first FA; I would have just been the first guy to do the quest.

GM events are legitimate occurrences in our dimension of norrath. While we may disagree with the item given out, it is the server's first; there's nothing illegitimate about it.

From upcoming patch notes:

Siblisian Berserker Cloak should be more likely to be seen in game. The rarity of the drop was not affected, but the chance to see one instead of a Stormwood Battle Staff was updated by taking the ratio of recorded staff drops to cloaks (very slight), and kor shamans were underrepresented in the spawn table due to a smaller level range

This means it can drop before the next patch, it's just very unlikely.

It always had a chance to drop it's just been very very very very minimal. The Dark Cloak of the Sky, however, is not attainable, but is still a server first.

Nobody got rezzed.. we shuttled DA idols off of mules while the other guilds were clearing to ensure all non necro/clerics had DA and when ready we zoned in, popped DAs, fell, killed. No rezzing. :P

Pha dah's pixels are the cream of VP and are best in slot for a long time, some for the life of the server. Only other pieces worth listing are the shaman primal essence hammer, grey suede boots, maybe 1 or 2 other items. Seriously once epics come out all those weapons are worthless.

I understand that most of the weapons will be obsoleted by epics, but some classes may still benefit from VP loot for a long time coming.. For instance

Razor Sharp Short Sword (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=6303) has a better ratio than Ragebringer (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=4066), and will probably not be obsoleted till Late velious? I dunno. I stopped playing rogue on live at the end of kunark, so I kind of stopped knowing about that stuff..

What I want to list are goal items, maybe not for every class, but I do want every major major goal item to be represented..

You're absolutely right. All haste items have been traditionally included in this post, partially because they were at one time the best single items any player could obtain, and partially to stave off arguments I was getting from people. In any case, I want to continue the tradition, and your use of the word "almost" kind of bugs me. What haste items are missing?

Seriously - Any items can be added here for many reasons. Most prominent on the list of reasons is rarity, but difficulty to obtain an item and also how it affects the class (best in slot, or highly coveted status).. For instance, Weight of the Gods is neither rare nor difficult to obtain (assuming you're in PoS killing stuff), but I bet most that have dropped are still being worn?

At the time, Dragoon Dirk was leet. You gotta understand that some of the classic firsts were listed because when they were obtained, only one or maybe two people were within 5 levels of being able to obtain them..

Some class only items may be included, depending on whether or not they are defining for the class for some time. Ideally, a class-specific item from VP would only be listed if it won't be obsoleted until late velious, if at all.

It's not really drama, some people just like to troll whenever possible because they do not have sex or relations with living things and are therefore very lonely.

Basically when TMO was serving their raid suspension TR received a new applicant from TMO (Xeli), and a week later when TMO's raid suspension was up within hours Xeli had left TR and was retagged TMO. Like I said, not anything really dramatic, Xeli is just a known dick to the community now. :)

Quest requires pretty high TS faction, which you only have if you have done the tedious factionwork as a non shaman, so I don't think anyone bothered to try yet here.

I know for sure it had a class restriction on live, I had the boots and shaman epic as a Wizard, so I'd wager that it won't work here, and if it does, it wont be long until they fix it.

trak guts may be on the loot table for trakanon - i know when i was after my epic on live it took forever for us to get a drop of trak guts.

at this point in the timeline they don't drop every time.

Amelinda says it may be on the loot table, can we confirm this? I can't believe not even one hasn't dropped yet in all this time. Maybe its flagged not to drop when they added the UDB script on Live even though its on the loot table? (not an EQ coder so I have no idea)
