View Full Version : free the bards
programmable keyboards and mice should be allowed as long as they don't respond to the game on their own and aren't used while afk. people blow them way out of proportion. they're like /r and other forms of autocomplete. they don't make decisions for you. they save keystrokes to protect the health of your hands and wrists. i'm all for making the client and server as close to classic as possible but this isn't about the client or server. this is about peripherals and ergonomics.

stopsong in game? bards are split between macroing i hated macroing with the hotbar... cuz it was buggy even with stopsong and/pause
i agree with OP tho put melody in

You arent supposed to but I dont think youd be detected. Kind of the whole allowing boxing across servers would be too much of a hassle to make against the rules since they cant box test two characters on seperate servers etc

cool the way I would box test would be to randomly DDoS a specific connection and simulate 1999's internet that way if they are routing thru another tunnel their main pipe would would just go link ded as well because while the tunnel wasnt getting packets thru the middle the end point would still be ded.
i'm not nice :(

Oh I get it your downloading the server icon so they cant access the romulon nebula and suffer the wrath of the inevitable quickening.

Shamans average more CPM. Save them first.

I'm really torn on this. On the one hand, obviously such programs were banned on live, so they're clearly unclassic and don't belong here.
On the other hand, as a Shaman who has to insta-click Cann, and as a tradeskiller ... and as a person with real life RSI issues ... this change would be a godsend.
Honestly, I'd be happy if they just nerfed the insta-click thing so I could go back to cann-dancing like we did on Live. I also wouldn't object to Blue (only) getting that melody stuff for Bards ... but really all I care about is consistency. Saying it's against the rules, and making players who play fairly suffer RSI, while not cracking down on cheaters, would truly be the worst option.

"free the bards" is just a hook. every class would benefit. maybe you're right about shaman but bard is the class with the biggest reputation for causing carpal tunnel syndrome and other repetitive strain injuries.

blows my mind how my hands are still supple after all these years i wish u guys had options... just... don't... abuse... them? forget and leave them running for 30 minutes at a time...?
voted "Yes" aka for...
and I am a super hateful troll, that should tell you something...

i agree and this seems to be what's happening. it takes away an indispensable tool for preventing rsi and it isn't even very enforceable so it mainly punishes people who want to play by the rules.

Wait im confused. I thought I heard that you can use a mouse with regular key commands on them. Like if I get an MMO mouse and bind just the command "L" as one of the mouse clicks, can I then use L as one of my hotbar commands? Like if I make hotbar slot 4 the L key, and then bind one of my mouse buttons to be L, is that allowed?

If you want to be taken seriously consider employing capitalization of words.
Otherwise you hurt your own cause.
I play a Bard, but I won't waste my time reading the writings of someone that can't be bothered to capitalize.

They cant see you using it but they can see the exact same timing on the songs over long periods of time
the big question is
does anyone care
answer:No

As a bard I vote NO. I love that bard is one of the classes with a large differentiating proficiency rate.

a player's skill isn't determined by the things that programmable keyboards are used for. it's determined by the things that have to be done manually anyways. a programmable keyboard doesn't make a player better. it just extends the life of his/her hands and wrists irl.

This isnt happening, keep dreaming. If playing the bard is to hard for you dont play it, this sounds more like something a box player would want

I follow a strict regimen of firing guns, pornhub and stiff bourbons. My wrists have yet to hurt barding for long hours.
