Gretta Mottle (https://wiki.project1999.com/Gretta_Mottle) and Buggle Palkin (https://wiki.project1999.com/Buggle_Palkin) appear to be spawning a bit too early inside Irontoe's Eats in South Kaladim.

This comment (https://web.archive.org/web/20050315055947/http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?id=6615&mid=99274654490790#post) suggests these NPCs and their associated quest was added in Jun 2001.

Additionally, snapshots of Illia's Bestiary from April 2001 (https://web.archive.org/web/20010416013954/http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?zone=52) and August 2001 (https://web.archive.org/web/20010816134445/http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com:80/search.shtml?zone=52) (the next available) show the addition of Gretta Mottle to South Kaladim.

Lastly, while it appears these NPCs shouldn't be in-game yet, there may be some issue with the implementation to be fixed for later. These NPCs are supposed to share a day/night cycle. Currently, there is a duplicate instance of Gretta up at all times, while a second instance intermittently cycles between Gretta and Buggle. During the day, however, Buggle does not appear to patrol Butcherblock Mountains, and neither instance of Gretta responds to hails.

Her spawn was broken in the last patch. I think she was added in June 2001 and accepted the missing baking supply quest until July 2001. So I presume that means Buggle will only patrol in Butcherblock for a month. Does that mean he should still be her nightly assistant until the plague ends November 2001?

Here is volume 2 of the Kaladim news issued June 2001:
- Lost and Found -
Baker Gretta Mottle, a lovely lass she be, has recently agreed to set up shop in Tumpy Irontoe's fine pub.

You'd be sad to hear that she lost several crates of her bakin' good durin' the move to Kaladim from Freeport.

Her assistant is sure he saw the crates come off the boat.
What happened to 'em from there, he don't be knowin'.
Grett be offerin' a handsome reward for the return of her crates.

Here is a reference to her baking supply quest as only being temporary.
The Gretta's Baking Supplies quest was only temporarily available. You would learn about the quest through volume 2 (or was it voloume 1?) of "The Mining Journal" (Kaladim's new "village newspaper" as Verant calls it) sold by Marsha Stonepenner in North Kaladim. The supplies themselves were a lore ground spawn item near the docks. Your reward for turning in the crate of supplies was money and a little XP, don't remember what faction you got (if any) for the quest.

When the next issue of the newspaper came out, the quest had been deactivated--Gretta was selling muffins, bread, and a few other baked goods, which before couldn't be bought in Kaladim at all AFAIK. So presumably she now had her baking supplies and could bake stuff. Also she would no longer respond to hails. And then, last time I happened to be there in Tumpy's, (last weekend), Gretta was gone, replaced by a male dwarf NPC vendor holding a book (forget the name) selling pies. When hailed, he said he was Gretta's assistant (the one who lost the baking supplies originally). The retarded plot thickens! :/
