I just want to thank Uthgaard for putting that together. Been on the server a long time now, and that was the best event I've seen. Challenging, made hostile guilds work together, and overall a lot of fun.

Kudos man, thanks for keeping P99 fun :D

Anyone have a summary of the event? Just curious, I saw some of the broadcasts about Brosama Bin Floggin but wasn't online long enough to participate.

I'm curious to know what happened too.

I saw the broadcasts while hunting down in Blackburrow, but I couldn't figure out what was going on or how to get involved :(.

Sounded like fun though.

I didn't log in until the event was over, but I saw the items that were passed out being linked. Personally I think giving out PoS quest items that require tons of work and killing the hardest mobs in the current game state trivializes those who have these powerful items the hard way. I like gm events rewarding items like guise and golden efreeti armor because these items have a high cool factor but are not very powerful, but 41% haste items are another story.

I think giving out guises trivializes those of us that are server veterans which are marked by the guise like a badge of awesome.

But then I shrug and realize I don't care all that much. let people that didn't google "eq" 10 days after the launch of p99 have some fun too.

I'm glad you spent as much effort researching the difficulty of what took place as you did researching what dropped.

The encounter was pretty mean, Im suprised we killed him on the first try, we did have 80 players though.

Tell us what your plan for that was, with the seals n stuff? You said we sisnt have the fight figured out at all and you expected us to get pasted.

Ultra fun btw. And that cloak is nasty.

It went great. The tuning was perfect from what I saw. The lower levels got to have some fun, Daliant got DTed trying to KS one from a newb, and it made the higher levels help some lower levels out.

The fire giants were tweaked up to an appropriate challenge, every raid guild combined to about 100 total present, and still nearly wiped to an unexpected Skarlon pull. I was really glad to see that even some 50+ from non-raiding guilds came and participated.

Brosama himself was level 65 with 128k hp, vs's proc, velk's aggro drop on a 30 second cooldown, and gravity flux on a 45 second cooldown. He was designed so that everyone would have to work together to make it happen. The goal was to implement enough survivablity to make it unzergable, to shit all over midnight mallets, and make people react quickly to changes in aggro and positioning with all of the lava nearby.

They held on really well, at 10% they started to lose people and healers were going oom. It looked like he was going to pull out ahead, but they stepped up their game and got him down.

You all were expecting a DT, and the positioning plan was most likely going to get your healers fluxed at the same time. But you didnt try to pull him around the corner and that was in your favor. The enchanters realized that he could be manatapped, I was surprised they picked up on that first attempt. I was really impressed with how few people died in general, with the aggro dropping chaos. It was some great teamwork and leadership.

Like sweet GM items weren't given out on Live.

The complaining isn't quite classic yet, otherwise sounds good.

Yea when they were setting up that CH chain, naggy wall positions and such. It drove me nuts since no one even tested him. +5dkp to the Brave monk who went in and found out his abilities!

And as for the Sky loot. I think its fair, and I'm one of the main people who suffered though weeks on end of sky raids. Good call imo, I think that Giant would have taken the Veeshan's Eye easy.

Was pretty fun, and I'm really glad I got to go. I got splatted right after I figured out we could mana tap it, but it was lots of fun.

I'd like to see some more events, even without any loot at all, with 100k+ HP mobs. It'd be awesome to have a Yelinak/Tunare/Tormax fight just to see if we could handle it.

Or a contest guilds vs guilds attacking different mobs. I know on live they had guilds across the server race to see who they could kill Bosses in major cities across the world. Of course this was pre Kunark and the bosses hit for 350+ a pop, so something different would need to be done.

I know it's not really "classic" but GM events had a lot of room to do a lot of cool stuff on live. I also know how much of a pain in the ass to have 100+ people ranging in levels all wanting the uber loots from said events. So I understand Gm events are rare here due to only being able to take so much from us.lol

If it was like a guild challenge how they had on live, and results were at the end. It wouldn't be as bad imo.

*** I'm not saying guild only events. I'm all for events anyone can join. It's just 1 idea I have***

While I didn't get to attend it was very nice of the Devs to put this event in. I look forward to future events.

It is events like these that make MMOs enjoyable.

Was there a plan for Seal Team Six, or were you flying by the seat of your pants Uthgaard? Everyone thought that they had to help somehow. At one point I thought we maybe needed to charm them to help, but they could only be charmed via Dictate. Also Perun thought he needed to AoE them to help.

Any of these close?

I'm pretty sure Uthgaard was so impressed that guilds that normally train each other mothers over raid items where able to come together delegate loot fairly and kill super hard mobs. That he up'd the loot level a bit.

I know TMO got the warrior, ranger, monk, bard and paladin items and as I already had the 41% haste from sky so i gave it to Hasbinbad from TR (he really needed it)

Who else got what?

It would be funny if Seal Team Six had aggroed if you said "Delta Force is better" or any of the lyrics to The Village People's "In the Navy"

It was some great teamwork and leadership.

Who led?

*EDITING TO ADD* you all know that i would have cried tears of joy to see you people cooperating instead of training each other and whining and complaining. sadly i logged in after he was dead.

so sad. but it looks like it was wayyy fun. :)

It was fun! it was very late tho- sad I had to bail before the cool loot came out :-P

It was actually quite organized for being a anyone thats there big BIG ass raid. Brosama had it comeing to him...twas a nice touch haveing his AC so balanced that you could hit him...it was just for minimum, lol. I just used my 1h and chain lifetapped the fool.

I was expecting dying a lot with no GM rezzes and fireworks as loot so I didn't go. Joke was on me when I saw upgraded Sky quest items which aren't even in game yet.

Whenever I have an event, I always make sure its worth going. Like when everyone was too cool to go to the one in ec because kunark had just come out and they were in a rush to level.

Depends on the level of the character being awarded the exp.

Any idea how many levels that is equivalent to?

A human monk with 10,000,000xp is level 20.
A halfling warrior with 10,000,000xp is level 22
A troll shadowknight with 10,000,000xp is level 18

It's also approx 10mil xp to go from 50 to 51.
