No verification email for new accounts

I have a friend trying to sign up and they also are not receiving their verification email.

I just tested a new account and no email for me either.

Some additional info: I tried clicking "reset password" for my forum account and have not received an email there either. I'd assume based on this the email server is not working at all ATM.
