View Full Version : Only Gnomes sink on levitate

My friend and I have both been noticing this for years, if a Gnome has levitate they sink way faster than everyone else. It's annoying in a group, when traveling. It also limits the effectiveness of levitate in certain situations. I've been meaning to report the bug, but today was the final straw when our group was running together with a bard, in a straight direction across dreadlands in the sky, but because I'm a gnome i was sinking vs everyone else floating (not encumbered), and eventually I fell out of the bard song range due to the racial sink, then I fell out of the sky for 20000 damage and ate a death.
I have tested this across at least 3 gnome characters, plus my friend has on 2 as well. It is only gnomes, all other races levitate normally. I was able to get a rez thankfully, but this can be tested on any gnome character to be confirmed. Just cast levitate on a gnome and stand next to them after walking off a ledge while also having lev (on a non gnome char), standing still on both chars.

I once went on a raid in CoM, and everyone was doing this "jump and levitate to an outcropping" thing.
Everyone on the raid could do it just fine ... except my Gnomish ass. My guild just watched and shook their heads as I failed, over and over. Eventually I think I wound up getting CotHed (which was extra embarrassing, because my Gnome is a Magician, and should have been the one doing the CotHing).
Now, I'm a terrible player (eg. I'm not great in Velks either) ... but it's nice to know that it was at least partly because of my vertical impairment ;)

I sink on every character regardless of fps, encumbrance etc...., i thinks it related to computer specs but ive used a bunch of diferent pcs.
Maybe its related to the type of titanium install you have.

:D Someone hasn't read the Project 1999 Play Nice Policy (PNP) - Server Rules and Expectations (https://www.project1999.com/forums/showthread.php?t=325349) recently.
They no longer (since at least April of this year) contain any ban on "exploiting". Do all the lev tricks you want: they're kosher now.

Because the forum admins should have been killed this forum off years ago, but didn't?

Exploiting pathing in EQ is my favorite thing in my entire life.
Salary best (forums) pvper on the server.
You cast spell GM ban on Loramin.
Loramin is protected.
Swing and a miss.
