Deepwater graphics

Since the last patch was implemented my Deepwater Helm changed from a cool black with yellow markings graphic to an ugly brown hood. The Deepwater Gauntlets I'd just equipped today appear like nondescript brown gloves. I don't know what the gloves are supposed to look like though the helm graphic has definitely changed.

Log completely out of the game.

Look for dopropertinting= in eqclient.ini

If it's false, set it to true. If it's true, set it to false.
If it's not there, add it.
Report any improvement or failure.

That looks correct to me, for Deepwater. Also note Erudite hood color is determined by glove color. So if you put on new gloves, your hood will change.

DoProperTinting was set to FALSE in both the original eqclient.ini and in the replicated eqclient.ini in the WINE directory from which I run P99 (I had someone set this up for me and I don't understand it very well). I have since set the value to TRUE in both .ini files however the graphic remains a nondescript brown hood.

Okay so I just bought a pair of Leather Gloves and my hood changed back to the black and yellow graphic. Are the Deepwater Gauntlets actually supposed to be ocher then? It looks entirely incongruous with the vambraces and boots.

The only reason it looks incongruous is because youre not wearing a full set and the other colors in between skew your perception. If you were wearing all yellow it would appear different and you would be able to tell why each slot carries a slightly different hue.

the arms don't match the helmet at all, i have all of these pieces of deepwater (arms, bracers, helmet, guantlets) and they look hideous when they are all equipped together, especially the helmet.

classic or not the helmet equipped should really reflect the helmet graphic. seems like a pointless and really trivial bug to maintain for the sake of the "classic experience" since few people would have known or noticed and probably none should care.

I considered it a feature. Every Erudite's hat color was determined by their gloves, from 99- 04 when I stopped playing, using classic models. We did no work to make this work classically; it still functioned that way in the client. It might still on eqlive.
