Exotic Drinks Quest

When you are completing the Exotic Drinks Quest (http://wiki.project1999.org/index.php/Exotic_Drinks) please pay special attention to the updated step 7 (updates in red):

Step 7: Go back to the Seafarer's Roost AFTER 6pm. Cast Human Illusion before going in. When you get in, cast Alliance on Gregor and give him the 4 items (Kiola Nut, Erud's Tonic, Honey Jum, Fish Corpse) ALL AT THE SAME time. He will give you 1 to 4 plat and the Bartender's Compendium. **NOTE** DO NOT GIVE THE 4 ITEMS TO HIM ONE AT A TIME. HE WILL NOT GIVE YOU THE REWARD IF YOU DO THAT!!

Wiki was updated today. Please realize though that the wiki is not the end all/be all of correctness. it is, after all, a wiki and is editable by your peers and may not be accurate. Always give the npc the items asked for all at once unless the npc specifically states otherwise. READ THE QUEST TEXT :)

For whatever reason this suddenly became an issue yesterday and there were tons of petitions about this quest. SO MANY that i began to worry the entire quest might have been broken but then i discovered people were just following an incorrect wiki :P

Same here. I've done this quest four or five times now by handing all items in together. This sounds buggy.

Ditto on previously being able to hand in all 4 items at once to Gregor and receiving the barkeep's compendium. I would also like to add that, until recently (I would say within the last month), it was possible to hand Kizzie Mintopp 3pp with the honey combs to receive the honey jum, but now she will not give the sweet reward if you give her plats. I was at first afraid that she had merely eaten the honey combs, but giving her the 30gp she asks for in the quest text got the honey jum from her, even without handing her another round of honey combs.

You can give Kizzie Mintopp your honeycombs 1 at a time and complete the quest for honey jum. However, handing in the items for the compendium one at a time as the p1999 wiki originally stated will fuck you out of your shit because that is what happened to me two nights ago. I did this quest for a little nostalgia and what I got instead was rage.

If the honey jum quest was not MQable, that would be the end of it. you'd lose 3 honeycombs and 30 gold and then you'd know that you'd have to turn everything in all at once for everything else. But instead, you can successfully MQ the honeyjum quest (also as per the wiki) and expect to be able to do the same when you do your turnins for the compendium, instead getting a big fat goose egg for all of your time.

I saw your broadcasts and I was wondering what quest you were talking about. My understanding is the quest is not broken, but rather there was just a spike of people doing the quest? Does anybody know why that would be?

I'm collecting (http://norrathbrewing.wordpress.com/2011/08/09/hello-norrath/) booze and brewing items, so I did the quest for the Compendium not long ago thinking that it was a recipe book. I was disappointed whan that jerk Gregor went and magically sealed the book before giving it to me!

hai guise. i think you might be confused as to what i meant. someone put in the wiki that you had to hand the items in one at a time. but that isn't the way it's supposed to work.

Toddfx - i guess that was the issue - that suddenly people were doing the quest and handing the items in one at a time.

Oh. Oh! The way I read it, I understood that the problem people were suddenly complaining about was that Gregor wasn't accepting the honey jum, kiola nut, koalindl, and Erud's tonic if given them all at the same time. It is still a mystery to me why Kizzie all of a sudden stopped accepting platinum pieces :o

so i'm in a bit of a pickle... I am a 18 Human Necro and ran and did the entire quest and even got the compendium. Took me about 2 days.

I went to oggok to hopefully turn this in and receive my beautiful stein but apparently i'm KOS to ogres! =(

I read online that wolf form is not enough for him to hand back a stein.

Is there anything I can do or am I out of time, and a stein?

For clarification, I still have the compendium on my toon.

there was a bug up till at least some point in velious. if you can charm something, you can hand in any items for quest requiring amiably or less, because a charmed NPC regards its master amiably.

also, if you could charm something, you could hand it a no drop item, then have someone kill the NPC, and loot the item. effectively transferring no drop items.

charm wont work for others. charmed mobs are only amiable to the caster. indiff to everyone else.

I know indifferent was good enough on Live - I completed the quest using Sneak once. Whether this will work on p1999 is a different matter.

I'll give the enchanter charm thing a try. If it eats my book it's not like there was any other way for me regardless

So here's how I did it:

Had a druid zone in and give me share wolf form so I wasn't KOS
Had an enchanter give himself ogre illusion in oggok
we walked up to clurg and sat in the corner
he mezzed the bouncer, then charmed clurg

I went through the dialogue, gave him book and now am a happy owner of a stein of moggok!

While not ideal or easy to have the help of a high level druid or enchanter, it is possible!

This needs to be fixed. I handed them in 1 at a time like I used to do long ago, and like what it said to do now, and lost the items.

You can do other quests with 1 item at a time, and then you come to this one that takes a lot of time and it doesn't work. Grr.

I made this multiquestable with the last patches. Can turn in 1-4 items at a time.

Edit - Disregard. Completed quest today with a fresh DE Agnostic Enchanter, no Alliance used at any point.
