Sap Sheen staff -- Research Required -- Proc or Click?

i did a search for tibrinn embers and sap sheen staff found nothing if this is already known i am sorry..

Zone - Rathe Mountains
NPC - Tibrinn Ember

Reward - Sap Sheen Staff ( was originally or still is not sure right click from inventory ) not sure if or when it was changed alla says its a proc but i know it wasnt at least...other people have put comments of it not being as well.

I turned in the Slime staff and the mithril belt and he just gave them back also gives no Dialog...sucks too because i spend over 24 hours camping those items

There is no quest dialogue on Alla, or Tokyo2001.

I made up the quest dialogue but as far as it being a right click effect, there is not sufficient information on the Alla page. Try do some digging to get some concrete proof that this is a right click effect.

Quest implemented next patch. I will leave this thread open ... please look into doing some research about whether or not it is a proc or click.

From a post on allak it appears to be a proc as of 2001.

Another problem is the random root effect. We often snare the mob so they turn to run and stop at low health (unless they are undead). If you are beating on the back of a snared giant with this weapon and this thing procs it is gonna turn on you.

It will be in the next patch.

The alla page does not have enough information to say that it is right click. There is no concrete information there. There is posts saying it is, and posts saying it isn't.

Use the wayback machine and try to find some solid info.

here is that guys full post though (in a nut shell he doesnt have it) alot of people would never do the quest because it shows as a proc) which is stupid

I recommend not bothering with this item.
At this point you will have at least one good item in your off hand. (Testament or Char Sheild)

I suppose there are some Ok tactics with this switching it out after you have fought for a bit with your damage shield on. Another could be to pull it out when you get rushed by a bunch of mobs and beat them with it as you try to escape.

If you are beating on a mob until the root procs and then back off and switch to WIS gear the mana is not going to be there for you.

If it is right-click or random all it would take is a simple post from someone who has it. Perhaps how and when they use it as well.

The non-hafling druid who can worship Tunare are lucky enough to have the Tunare (Warden, etc.) quest availible to them should do that and get the necklace that provides a right click ensnaring roots. Now that is a nice piece, no a near godly piece. Now that I think of it yes, its a god piece for Tunare.

(Anyone know if there is a quest for Karana?)

bascially no one ever did the quest because its two EXTREMELY rare items for a proc? no one would ever do that...that post was may 1st 2001...

Fixed the quest dialogue.

Every post under the sap-sheen staff item page has people saying it is a proc and not a click. There just doesn't seem to be any conclusive evidence (especially since Alla/Lucy lists it as a proc and not a click).
