Bixies & Griffons (And carpets)

Back in the day I remember 2 distinct mobs in EC which are no longer there. 1 is the bixie. It would aggro me no matter what, and they were everywhere. The second, which I remember vividly, was the Griffon that patrolled EC. Where are they @?

Lastly, I remember my friend pointing out that if you looked up in the sky in EC you would see magic flying carpets. I am almost certain there were three of them flying toward FP along the southern EC zone wall. Just a few pieces I remember from back in the day =D

the griffin (griffin, not griffon) is in EC. I've seen him with me OWN EYES! and killed him with me own sword. He musta just been dead or wandered around you when you passed through. Bixies yeah they used to be there didn't they! I don't actually recall if they are here in p99 or not. Though they were nonkos if I remember; are you an evil race, maybe?

Flying carpets? lol never heard of that one please elaborate. just.. flying carpets? hard to see? giant? any practical meaning behind them? any sort of use? purely a joke?

1) Griffin, sorry... I leveled from 4-~9 has a human pally every day for a week w/out seeing this guy; but if you killed him, he's there =P

2) Back in 99' I was a DE SK, so that might have something to do with it. I also had a halfling dru who slaughtered them for fun... something else to do with it? But they are not in P99 currently.

3) YES! Magic carpets! My friend told me a story, that he heard from someone, who heard it from someone else, and so on and so on... but if you went out from EC tunnel, to the edge of the sand & grass and looked up, there were three squares in a "v" formation flying toward FP. The story I heard was that when you got higher up, and visited the planes there was a special way to travel on the carpets and if you fell off you would zone into EC. I never confirmed that you could ride them, but I did see them on a daily basis. And this was Pre PoP- I joined the week of Kunark's release, and my friend had been playing about a month prior to Kunark, and they were in at that point. Over time it seemed that they were simply there for looks, but I would flip a brick if I saw them again in game.

maybe you can land on them by jumping from a particular place in sky? lol that'd be hysterical. I've never heard about these things.

And the bixies I'm pretty sure were nonkos, but had a faction. So if you killed them they would stop liking you (and if you were a DE they probably disliked you from the beginning).

I scoured the internet looking for any pictures that might reveal a glimpse of them, but no luck.... Too bad it was 10 years ago as my old computer had pics of all this stuff. Hell, I even took a screenie of my first 1kpp =D

There are 2 griffin spawns in ec.

There are 3 different bixie spawns in ec. They are kos to dark elves.

I remember the carpets/blobs flying in formation. People also saw UFOs in oasis/nro.. maybe the same thing? I personally think it was some client error with the clouds or objects. Discussed here (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/zone.html?zstrat=36) or other searches for everquest ufo.

chances are the carpets / ufo's etc. disappeared when they changed the sky boxes for the zones.

I used to live in EQ tunnel doing trading and what not, never heard about these flying carpets :p but then my eyes were transfixed on my grubby hands with the plat! not the sky for elusive flying carpets!
