Shackle of Steel

I've completed the Shackle of Copper and Shackle of Bronze, but after Shackle of Bronze an Iksar master (Master Rinmark) says nothing about a student, and won't start the Shackle of Steel quest, with no response to "Where is your student?"

Ah, sorry. According to the wiki (http://wiki.project1999.org/index.php/Monk_Shackle_Quests) and also Allakhazam (http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=1204), upon completing the Shackle of Bronze quest, Master Rinmark (an Iksar master) in Timorous Deep is supposed to mention that his student is missing. He does not mention this and does not respond when asked about it.

According to patch history, Shackle of Steel has been fixed January 09 of 2001

In other words, shackle quest isn't that great at the moment

i just finished the shackle of bronze quest today and there was no mention of a student from master rinmark, nor does he respond to "where is your student". Still broken

***Patch Day***

We’re happy to present today’s patch, which focuses primarily on
addressing issues that have been brought forth by EverQuest players. We
appreciate the opportunity to spend some time focusing on specific
issues important to you. Today’s patch includes the following:

*Disciplines*

- The “Resistant” Discipline now lasts 5 minutes instead of the
previous 1.
- The “Holy Forge” Discipline now lasts 5 minutes instead of the
previous 2.
- The “Weaponshield” Discipline now lasts 20 seconds instead of the
previous 15.
- The “Leechcurse” Discipline now lasts 20 seconds instead of the
previous 15.
- The “Deftdance” Discipline now lasts 15 seconds instead of the
previous 10.
- The “Puretone” Discipline now lasts 4 minutes instead of the previous
2.
- The “Sanctification” discipline now lasts 15 seconds instead of the
previous 10.
- The “Unholy Aura” Discipline now gives a 50% bonus to Harmtouch
(compared with the previous 25%) and causes it to save versus disease,
which should result in even fewer resists in most high-level
encounters.

*Spells*

- “Lay on Hands” has been improved starting at 40th level.
- The “Summon Corpse” spell is now available to Shadowknights.
- Corrected a bug that was causing damage while using the “Trueshot”
Discipline to be the same regardless of the quality of your bow.
- The spells “Focus of Spirit” and “Visions of Grandeur” now stack.
- “Harmtouch” is now resisted as if it were a “Lifetap” spell, meaning
that it is all-or-nothing, and nearly unresistable with exception to
encounters that are immune to magic or out of the acceptable level
range. In addition, maximum damage for Harmtouch has been increased
starting at 40th level.
- We fixed a bug that caused “Lure” type spells (Wizards) to be
resisted more than they should have been in certain types of
encounters.
- Melee attack timers will no longer be reset when a SK, Paladin, or
Ranger cast a spell. Previously these classes had to wait a full attack
delay after casting before they would attack via melee again.

*Miscellaneous*

- You may now adjust the clipping plane in the Hole. Previously, the
clipping plane was fixed. Many people requested the ability to bring
the clipping plane closer to allow them to improve their client’s
performance.
- Fixed several problems with trade-skill components that were not
dropping. Also added some new recipes.
- Fixed the Iksar “Shackle of Steel” quest.

I just got my shackle of bronze today, Aug 2, 2012, on the blue server.
Timorous Deep, an iksar master (Master Rinmark).
There is still no mention of student after shackle of bronze bestowed and no response to "where is your student".
According to the wiki, there should be a longer message from the master, indicating that a student must be rescued.
I have a screenshot of the message, and will post if desired.
Message simply ends at "You have completed the third rung."
Is this supposed to be available pre-velious?

The fix timeline is dated of January 9, 2001.

So don't expect a fix till Velious is out :)

Bugen already has the shackle of steel. I really hope Nilbog didn't decide to break the quest to correspond with Verant bugs. I mean there is classic, and there is silly.

It seems that's what the P99 Staff intends to do. If Sony didn't fix a bug in the quest, we won't either.

I guess I'd like to see a DB query to see if anyone has one. I put a fair bit of time into the shackle quests because I saw a monk with one.

The real problem i see here is the constant pick and choose of what they want to be classic and what they dont. The fact that they dont have these iksar quests in as well as the iksar cultural crafting now is just plain silly. Ive already posted in the crafting thread showing that in fact the enchanted iksar stuff was in game before velious and yet it has not been added. I think the devs just hate iksar like verant did imo.

Hi,

the iksar master in TD still doesnt mention his student when handing out the Shackle of Bronze aka Shackle of Steel part is still broken.
I attached a screenshot of him not mentioning the student and not reacting at all once he handed out the Shackle of Bronze.
