View Full Version : Game Mechanics: Safe Fall skill cap too high

My rogue was able to achieve a skill of 129 today. I am level 28. It didn't seem to want to go higher. According to EQthieves the skill cap is 94 for rogues, 40 for bards, and 200 for monks. I have yet to test for the other classes, but I figure if you're going to check them for one, you might as well check them for all?
How high can you bards get currently?

It also shows level 100 for rogues at the bottom of their rogue skill page too so not sure which is legit.

I think this is some weird interaction between the client and server. As a monk I think my actual skill level is 255, but it shows up in my skill window as a red 200.

I didn't check the skills list. I just went off the messages I got on screen. I'll have to check that, and report back.

When I look in the skills list, it shows red at 94. I was getting successful gains in level until 129 though. I am not sure which number the game is actually going off of?

As I understand it, the skill is actually capped at the proper number, but on the client it shows a higher number. This is supposition based on a rumor, so don't take it as fact, but apparently there was a patch as some point on live that allowed you to skill past your cap based on level, but it wouldn't actually work at that skill level until you reached the appropriate exp level.

I got another skill-up in lguk last night to 130. In my skills list it still shows 94 though, and red.
