there is still a problem with the current P99 spells_us.txt file
since there was no fix yet iam still using the titanium spell file since it shows up the correct spell gems:
TITANIUM VELIOUS GEMS WORKING:

now that i was able to get my hands on a pegasus cloak, i have to use the current P99 spell file again which causes a huge headache sind iam not able to identify the spells by their graphics as seen below
P99 VELIOUS GEMS BROKEN:

devs, please, can we get a fix for that? i realy dont want to use the lame newage spellgems nor the original (classic-era) ones since they all look identical on the same spell-lines

Yo. Those aren't velious gems you're wanting. Those are Luclin... and kinda later into Luclin. When we were forced to switch.
Here's some Katta Castellum with the same gems used prekunark-some of luclin.

There is no fix needed here.

what do u mean by forced to switch?
is there a possibility to manualy fix the pegasus cloak for my needs in the spell file? would love to keep using the luclin gems on P99
those 4 red head gems in your pictures demonstrates how hard it is to distinguish spells

you would have to edit your spells_us.txt your self to your needs ...
http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/archive/index.php/t-9753.html may help you find what you want ... but dont expect support on spell errors from any devs here if you fiddle with the file your self ...

Original gems > any later gems. :D
Yes I agree, the post luclin gems is easier to distinguish, but its just not classic :)
And if you really need to fiddle that much with your mouse and think about wich gem is the spell you need to press .... you seriously need to learn to use your keyboard and get some brain food to remember wich button is what :D
just kiddin .. no offense ment :p
But what is the problem with the Pegasus Cloak anyway ?
The problem with the different spell gem sets that exists .... I have fiddled with it too, is the gems is stored in a matrix in a .tga file, and the the luclin version is indexed completely different than the original gem file (eg. the "Healing" gem could be at pos 1,3 in one version but at pos 2,7 in the other, wich is why you need to edit the indexes of the spells_us.txt.
What is making this a challenge is, you have to keep any copies or edits of the tga files in the same resolution. if you change the resolution of the gems you have to figure out a new matrix to find the spot of eg. gem nr 5 in row 3 to get eg the ui xml files to work.
Personly i ran screaming away when i found this out .... it reminded me a bit too much of assembler and opcode programming.
Its not so complicated to understand, it just takes ages if you want to change stuff

But what is the problem with the Pegasus Cloak anyway ?
Read thru the thread and was curious about that myself.

the problem with pegasus cloak (and i guess with any levitate spell) is explained in the pictures. look at them.
to explain it further:
if i klick on the pegasus cloak (with original titanium spell file) i get a message that i am casting an unidentified spell. nothing happens after, no levitate, no buff symbol. but, upon zoning and within the buff timer i levitate + i get a weird buff icon on the buff bar.

The pegasus cloak appears to have unknown effect because that spell doesn't exist in the default spells_us.txt
We fixed a few things that are unfixed elsewhere.
Pegasus cloak should have effect 'levitate', similar to magician summoned ring 'levitate'. Just from these, we had to create 2 new levitate spells. Both componentless, but one that is self-only, and one that is targetable.
Sony, at some point, changed the "levitate" on cloaks, and rings, to "levitation" as that was the easy fix.
We also fixed summoned:waterstone. It was supposed to be enduring breath, not everlasting.. which required yet another spell to be added: componentless enduring breath.
I like things fixed classically :P
