View Full Version : Game Mechanics: ashenbone drakes in PoHate should be vulnerable to bellycasting

ashenbone drakes in PoHate were 100% resistant to range casted spells on eqlive, but they were quite vulnerable when standing under their belly (dragons, bellycasting) -> not the case here on p1999, I can't stick anything but Malo on them as a level 60 shaman.
Fix appreciated!

If you want to find evidence for stuff like this, you can always use the wayback machine:

Actually, I don't believe the Magic Resist is that bad. I may be wrong on this, but I was testing this out and I think it is just like the FG/Maestro thing..You have to be in Melee range to hit this guy with spells. With the Spite Golems..only wizards can hit them with spells and they have to be in melee range. I think it is the same with the drake. I was far away and attempted to cast spells and he resisted everytime..got up close and was able to DD him pretty well. (See? Actually information..Try it sometime people..its not bad)
Supposedly they can be mezzed too???

IT CAN BE MESMERIZED, By Payn (1/28/2001)
Actually it can be mezzed. We pulled 3 last night and the enchanters kept 2 of them alseep while we took the first one down easily.
The Alla page also lists them as belly casters: http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.html?id=1595

They drop shadowknight's weapons and shield. They have extremely high magic resist and must be melee to death.

I can confirm wizards spells (Lure of Frost and Ice comet) are landing on Ashenbone drakes from under their belly.
Howewer, just like Spit Golems, I never managed to snare one, even from under their belly.

I landed 3 out of 7 casts of JBB nuke (frost) in one fight, however 4 full resists seem pretty bad - I was always under the mob's belly. Also, they should - as stated above - be vulnerable to more than just cold / lures. Pretty easy to cast on on live.
