trakanon's tooth missing deadly lifetap

On live, before being removed sometime after luclin, the teeth that trakanon drops had a 1 charge right click deadly lifetap effect. 1500 dmg -200 MR check lifetap.

I was always curious why we instead have the later version of the teeth and not the original that was in place during kunark and velious.

No question about it that this is classic.

The real issue here is the abuse that could be done with these teeth if they are rechargable.

There is a way to recharge no drop items, at least some.

And if trak drops say 3-6 of these a kill, once everyone has their keys done, everyone will have an extra. Nothing like dropping a 36k mob instantly with 20 people. Low attendance night for your guild? eh 10 man a dragon thats 50% of its life right off.

There are a lot of issues with this item.

I suppose its a grey area classic item.

Not everything that was classic should be in game, some things dont make sense, like old quests that started out broken, giving out thousands of plat for the first few months of 1999.

Im good with whatever the devs decide.

Before velious was out, mana batteries were sold by the keymaster in plane of sky. The mana batteries (class 1, 2, 3, etc - same icon as the velious ones) are used to recharge plane of sky quest items with charges. Identifying the item will reveal what class mana battery it needs.

And so far, only the class 5 mana battery appears to be used in tinkering.

It's a game mechanic that I personaly loathe, in my opinion an exploit and would go against everything I stand for if I share that information. The people who know what im talking about are reading this post praying they put the lifetap on.

In all fairness they shouldn't be picking and choosing what features they want to implement. Too many times i hear well that wouldn't be classic. Well this is obviously not a classic item as it was when kunark was released therefore it should be changed back.

The legal way to recharge (by stacking the items a certain way when you sell them) won't work because you can't sell a no drop item. If there's an another way to recharge it you should probably report it to a dev.

Im not plastering this all over the boards, im not even sure it works here on p99, i just know it did on live in 2000/2001.

Regarding recharging no-drop items: It should not be possible. I do not know of a single instance in which this could be recharged on p99. On other eqemu servers, I know of plenty. If I am missing something, PM me with additional information and it will certainly be resolved.
