Inert Potion Quest Link:

G'Day i am doing a Quest called Inert Point, it is a quest which gave faction by returning potion from point a to point b.
Currently in P99, After turn in the potion to the Fake Slansin ( it gives following respond Ha!!What a fool!! I have stolen another potion to add to the crate. I shall make a fortune!! The real Slansin is Back. Now it is time for me to leave.) and following faction
+Carson McCabe
+Coalition of Tradefolk
+Coalition of Tradefolk Underground
+Corrupt Qeynos Guards
+Crimson Hands
+The Freeport Militia
-High Council of Erudin
-High Guard of Erudin
which is exactly the same as the website description
Factions Raised:
* Carson McCabe
* Coalition of Tradefolk
* Coalition of Tradefolk Underground
* Corrupt Qeynos Guards
* Crimson Hands
* The Freeport Militia
Factions Lowered:
* High Council of Erudin
* High Guard of Erudin
But after some reading the message/comments from thous who have done the quest in live during classic period.
The quest reward in classic is a bit difference from what the website said / what we have in P99
there is a fake and a real quest npc ( Slansin - the npc we hand the potion in )
The Fake Slansin ( Rogue looks like Toresian Fhabel - the npc who start the quest ) can be spawned by saying "I study enchantment" to Toresian and Slansin located in Vial of Vitality with follow respond " Ha!!What a fool!! I have stolen another potion to add to the crate. I shall make a fortune!! The real Slansin is Back. Now it is time for me to leave. "
gave the following factions :
+Carson McCabe
+Coalition of Tradefolk
+Coalition of Tradefolk Underground
+Corrupt Qeynos Guards
+Crimson Hands
+The Freeport Militia
With No other faction lost.
The Real Slansic ( Enchanter looks like like a regular merchant )
gave following respond "Thank you" ( can't confrim that since people usually don't turn in to this npc, but someone said he will say thank you)
Plus Despwan after hand in..
and the following factions :
-High Council of Erudin
-High Guard of Erudin
And also
+Heretics
+CraftKeepers

since it is a popluar quest...there are alot of feekback at the bottom of the page which indicate and prove that the quest is working from Original up to at least 2007 ( i didn't check the message beyond 2007.... just too many of them )

This spawns Slansin down in Vials of Vitality.
You say, 'i wish to assist toresian'
Toresian Fhabel says 'Ahhhhh _______. Slansin used to have need of those potions, however he mysteriously disappeared long ago. The only person I know of who still wants them is a cleric of the Church of Marr in Freeport.'
Give Slansin the Inert Potion.
Slansin says 'Ha!! What a fool!! I have stolen another potion to add to the crate. I shall make a fortune!! The real Slansin is in back. Now it is time for me to leave.'
Your faction standing with Coalition of Tradefolk Underground got better.

OK, this is what I was able to ascertain about this quest. First, you need Amiable in CraftKeepers to initiate it. "I wish to assist toresian" is the quote to get the potion.
Now, there are 2 Slansins. The enchanter in the red robe will give these factions:
+CoalitionofTradeFolkIII, +CoalitionofTradefolk, +CarsonMcCabe, +CorruptQeynosGuards, +TheFreeportMilitia
Nice stuff. He states "Now it is time for me to leave" but he doesn't.
If you get the real Slansin he will look like a regular merchant. I killed the imposter to get the real to spawn. Took about 2 hours. When you give him the potion you get:
+CraftKeepers, -HighCouncilofErudin, +Heretics, -HighGuradsofErudin
He disappears when you give it to him. Sounds like they have their quest a little backwards. Unless they read this post I'm not going to tell them. =P

In short... I goto erudin to con
Toresian Fahbel, the inert potion
questgiver and the guy i want to impress.
I am Dubious, and when hailed he tells me
i am lucky to still
be standing there alive.
Rats, need CraftKeeper faction. (erudite
enchanters) I leave
erudin, head to toxx forest.
Once i zone to toxx, i hug the right
wall until i reach the beach. turning
left, i follow the beach a few hundred
yards to the Kerra Isle docks. There i
find a erudite named Elial Brook, 5th
level paineel necromancer with less
than 100 hit points. Slay him for these
faction hits.
Factions Raised-
Craft Keepers
Crimson Hands
Deepwater Knights
Gate Callers
Factions lowered
Heretics of Paineel
Elial Brook is a 5 minute spawn and
will drop one Bone piece (not chip) at
every death. SAVE THESE, THEY STACK.
After accumulating 15-17 Bones, (for dubious)
head inside to the third floor of the
castle, to Toresian Fhabel once again.
Directly beside him is the Mage guild,
with a sign on it that says \"Tower of
the Gatecallers\". Proceed to the very
top of that tower, where you will find
the mage Guildmaster Markus Jaevins. He
gives a quest requiring you to hunt
down a escaped prisoner, (Elial) and
return his remains.
Give him One Bone at a time for these
faction hits.
Factions Raised:
Craft Keepers
Crimson Hands
Deepwater Knights
Gate Callers
High Counsel of Erudin
High Guard of Erudin
Again you will notice Craftkeepers
faction has been raised. Go down the
tower and /con Toresian Fahbel in front
of the mage guild. At amiable he will
give you the quest.
the quest itself is simple and can be
done pretty fast with a sow. Make one
hotkey with \"i wish to assist Toresian\"
as the main line and start playing
Gofer between the first and third
floors of the castle.
On the first floor you will find the
magic shop \"Vials of Vitality\". Inside
is a merchant named Slansin, who is a
spy for carson mcabe. He was
indifferent to me even tho i am low
dubious to carson, freeport, and corrupt q's.
Turn in the inert potion lore item that toresian
gave you for these yummy hard to get
faction hits.

Verant strikes again. Upon giving the bottle to Slansin, you will now receive negative factions with HighConcilofErudin and HighGardofErudin. The latter is not very healthy since there is usually a gard next to Slansin.

Not nerfed, you just had the wrong Slansin. There are two different Slansin's, one is the "real" one (a merchant in plain clothes), the other is thebandit (dressed much like Toresian)
The bandit one is the one that gives the plus faction to the "bad guards"
(apparently that guy hand potion to real slansin, but ya it is still working at 2001 as well )
Wanted to do this one a bit to get Freeport merchants (coalition of tradefolk) up.. It gives no faction with CoalitionofTradeFolk or CoalitionofTradeFolkUnderground, just CoalitionofTradeFolkIll. Or does that count as both?

Evil Slansin is on CoalitionOfTradeFolkIll, the same as the "shady" merchants in Freeport. He will accept the potions and give faction at dubious, but not scowls. I don't know about threatening.
The 'easy' quests (Janam and Rebby) for raising CoalitionOfTradeFolkIll and CoalitionofTradefolk (the "good" Freeport merchants) also requires you have decent starting faction
Were CoalitionOfTradeFolkUnderground and CoalitionOfTradeFolkIll maybe the same thing? Or the prior was maybe turned into the latter, or the latter intended to be the former and simply misnamed.

i think they jusy renew the name from classic....
but ya...in this p99 server it is call CoalitionofTradeFolkUnderground.
same faction...differet name form different eur
Still, no faction up with Coalition of Tradefolk - just the underground/ill ones. Allakhazam is claiming you'd get a faction boost with both for a turn-in.

Innert Potion Quest (Erudin)

This quest is a much easier way to raise the factions from the messenger quest. However, it requires fixing factions with Erudin (guards and casters), so as an Iksar, the messenger quest is the quickest way to go, unless you care about Erudin factions. The messenger quest though gives very bad factions with the corrupt qeynos guards, and since our dear Lieutenant Dagarok (slashes for 200-300s, harm touches for 700s) likes to hang around the Silent Fist house, Iksar monks might feel the need to do this quest.
In the Erudin castle, on the third floor, there is an enchanter named Toresian Fhabel. He will ask you to deliver a potion to Slansin, who is in the Vials of Vitality shop in the basement. Giving the potion to Slansin will make him laugh at you, as he pretends not to be the real Slansin (I do not think the real one exists at all), and give you the factions.
I only know that 600 times is the required time to fix the factions with the corrupt qeynos guards. The other factions might require more or less to fix, but I had already fixed them, so I cannot tell.
I died to Dagarok between 5 to 10 times. I could not resist, I had to do this:

Coalition of Tradefolk : Ally (Was already maxed)
Coalition of Tradefolk Underground : Ally (Was already maxed)

Went to do this quest yesterday to raise my Corrupt Qeynos Guard faction (which I managed to somehow lower... still can't figure out how). I was surprised to find the faction loss with the Erudin High Guard and Erudin High Council. Still not fixed, it seems.

Fixed, pending update.
This took a while..
-both slansins created with their appropriate factions and quest text
-they are spawnable via quest triggers with Toresian
-their quest turn-ins will yield the proper faction
-giving real slansin the potion will depop him
-giving the fake slansin the potion will not depop him
-killing the fake slansin will make the real slansin pop in the back room. he will then path to the counter as usual.
-there can be only 1 slansin!

because there is no one want to do the quest with the real one ( give the bad faction ).

Horray! Gonna need to drag a cleric along, running past erudite guildmasters invising every few mins to do turn-ins will eventually result in invis-drop at worst time imaginable, followed by ice comets and crap.

Here's a post from the link you provided. Sounds like they know what they are talking about.
If anyone really wants to turn this inert potion in to the real Slansin heres how it's done. First off you need to spawn the fake Slansin by telling Toresian "I wish to assist Toresian". Then go down and kill the fake Slansin. This will cause the real Slansin to spawn in the back room.
FYI the reward sucks, the faction hits you take for killing the fake Slansin sucks, and the faction you get for turning in the bottle to the real Slansin doesnt justify the means.
